We took ours out for Jacksons baptism, I think it was about 5 days prior. We just left it in its glad wrap and left it on the bench. Then once it was eaten we put it into an airtight container.

what type of cake is it? I think we just took our small fruitcake out the day before we wanted it, and from memory we kept it wrapped in glad wrap in the fridge.

Ours was fruit cake too, took it out, left it on the bench in gladwrap over night. It was early Jan. Then we just kept it cut up in a tin until it was all eaten (only a few days).
