Topic: do you believe in dreams? Posted: 06 January 2007 at 10:32am |
Just wondering if anybody believed in their dreams, you see last year i had a dream that my next baby was going to be a girl, and i even dreamed her name, i also dreamed that she would be with us in person by november this year.
I never told anybody this dream, and then this morning my mother rang me and told me she had had this dream, and told me my babies name (excatlty the one i dreamed about) and that she would be with us by november this year.
So as i believe that dreams tell us things and that i do believe in them, i was just wondering if anybody else had, had dreams like this....and what they thought of them :)

Wow if both of you had it then maybe it will happen. I personally haven't had anything in my dreams so true but sometimes I would love for them to come true.

I believe dreams mean things but sometimes not what you dream if that makes sense. So say you dreamt someone died it wouldn't actually mean they were going to die but maybe they were going away or something.
When I was preg with Jack I wanted a girl so bad but in every dream it was a little blonde boy and thats what I have lol.

Kazzle that is soooo cool!!! Yes, I believe you can dream things (like you have) and have them come true.
I didn't dream about Amelia's name or that she was a girl, but I knew from day one we were having a girl and before I was 12 weeks her name was 'given' to me ... so DH and I didn't really have any say in her name at all .. and although we bought a baby name book, we never came up with another girls name. Sorry ... taking over your post!

Yea I think dreams are sometimes true, not sure how it works though! But most of my dreams are not true so you have to be careful, especially if you are prone to bad ones I guess

i have to say i believe in dreams in a way...
i have had too many dreams that have actually happened. i have dreamt of the deaths of 4 of my relatives which actually took place with parts of my dreams being of huge significance although at the time i thought the dream meant something else (dont know if that maeks sense but i had interperted them differently) january 2005 i dreamt that my grandma passed away at a birthday and my then baby emma took her first steps... kjust a few things that were strong in my dream. feb that year (the next month) she started having nasty turns (heart) and my daughters 1st birthday she was rushed to wellington hospital and while she was there my girl took her first steps.. each thing of significance in my grandma's health happened around my dream. when she was actually dying in my dream me and my mother were with her and my sister in her kitchen and the that is EXACTLY how it was when she did.
i had also dreamt my aunty passed away while me and my cousin were playing together, alone in a house, and again when this aunty did pass away i was home alone on the phone to the cousin in my dream.
i also dreamt of a very close cousin having a baby boy- in the dream was an island and another cousin (her brother) birthday. i remember thinking she would have a boy on his birthday... turns out she did get pregnant and before she knew she was had been told she was going to fiji with her work etc.... and it was over her bros birthday! all spooky stuff....
i promise im not weird!

I definitely believe in dreams but man, with some of the really bizzare (and horrible) ones I have been having lately - I hope not!

I dream every night, in full colour and in my dreams I can read. All of these things are rare (especially all together) and so I did quite a bit of research back in my "at peace with mother earth but who am I?" era. I love dream reading. I believe that we project our subconcious selves in very artful ways. Congratulations on your prophetic dream!

i also get deju vu dreams...similar to prophetic ones...were you dream and wonder why as it is a minor type of thing going on in dream and then months or even years later soemthign happens and it is exactly as it was in the dream...the deja vu makes me stand still...
I also dream of people and wake up thinking WHOA why did i dream of then...and then that week or later i either see them or have something happen that involves them etc...those ones are weird esp when you have not thought of that person in years...and im talking bit players in your life not major people...
Arent dreams interesting?

Hear hear I am a total believer of dreams as well. Dont those pregnancy dreams leave alot to be desired...They get really strange. When pg with Alize I dreamt that he was kicking me so much that his little foot burst out the side of my tummy with a blue bootie on lol. It just seemed so real till I woke up lol.

I believe in dreams i get the deju vu dreams and also dream in colour and can read to.
The pregnancy ones are differnitly weird I had one similar to kels except James's toenails were very long and sharp they peirced though my skin and gave me big slash marks. Like that was how he was going to be born by slashing his way through me.

I have had a few interesting ones. Aaaagees ago when i was about 12, I remember having a dream that i was in the dress for less here in Palmy (yeah it still existed back then lol), and was with my sisters and had to look after two carseats with baby boys in them. Not long after that those two sisters both became pregnant, one had her baby in the january and the other mid-year and both were boys. .. i remembered that dream and freaked out a bit.
A few years later i had a dream that we were staying at my sister in the waikato's place, (she was one of the above mentioned sisters) and i woke to find a fire, I remember seeing mum grab my sister's little boy, and i ran into their spare room to find a cot with two baby girls there. I grabbed them and took them outside. Those same two sisters as the first dream both got preg at the same time again and had two baby girls within 2 months of each other.
That's why i freaked out a bit when i had a dream that i was in a huge garden with a tyre swing with two children .. one with big blue eyes and curls (though i think i remember her hair being blonde) was swinging on the tyre swing and the other I couldn't see properly cos it was running around, but was in overalls and i thought it was a boy...I got the feeling they were mine. A couple of months later I got preg with Paris, who apart from having brown hair, is nearly the splitting image of the girl on the swing.. blue eyes curls and all. I always thought that Ayja was going to be a boy alot of the reason was because of that dream.
It's weird and freaky. But i spose in a way it also shows me that really i was only ever going to have 2 kids.
It's funny the way things turn out. Glad to know i'm not the only one that has things like this happen.. I don't feel so weird sharing it.
