Twins are cool, I am one myself and they run in my family, my mum has two sets of twins in her family. But I can tell you I was still relieved to see only one baby in my scan, I don't think I would be able to cope with twins especially for my first pregnancy. But now I have had one I think I would be more prepared to have twins.I hope you are having twins because you seem really excited about that possibility

My husband is a twin, and he was hoping for ages taht we woudl have twins. And one day I said to him "why do you want twins so bad, it would be really hard work for us, it would be double of everything!"and he said: "because when you have a twin you have someone to go through life with"...and I thought that was so cute. He loves his twin to death and he wanted the same for his baby....so sweet!

Twins don't run in my family, I'm under 35, this is not my 4th or more successful pregnancy, and I did not conceive using any form of medical help, so the odds that we're having twins are pretty low! Still... we'll see!

we wanted twins first time round but then got pregnant with twins second pregnancy and was a bit bummed because only wanted two kids and Kobe was only 8 months old at the time so couldnt imagine how we would handle it, guess fate played its part and we lost them but this time round its only 1 and I know hubby really wanted twins again.

I never went to the doctor in japan while I was pregnant with Taine. After remarknig to Mum that I felt bigger than i had with jaek, she piped up with "could be twins". I'd forgotten but we have many twins in the family, as does lewis. I was not impressed. I think twins are lovely, but don't think I could cope.

If any of us had twins, we would all cope because you have to!! Becca, my sisters twins were one last week - there are none in the family, it was her second pregnancy, no fertility treatment and she was 34 when she conceived....

Lol Aimee...
Vanessa, twins run in Nathaniel's family as well... not that it makes any difference! I had such trouble last weekend making my Mum realise that the fact Nat has uncles who are twins is irrelevant to whether or not I could be carrying twins! And she's a nurse! You'd think she'd know her basic biology a little better: it takes 2 eggs, or one egg split in half, to make twins, so it's all up to me!

I thought it was the guy who determined twins well at least for the fraternal or was it the other type, I cant remember I just remember the midwife asking Darron if there were twins in his family (there are twins on both sides but only distant) Im pretty sure older woman have a better chance of twins aswell. I know this is not the same as having them full time but I looked after my friends we girl for about 3 days a week from when she was 3 months (same age as Kobe) and I loved it. They were both into the same sleeping and eating routines so while it wasnt easy it was fun and not as bad as what everyone thought.

Good luck to you! I hope you get your twins :) But one more baby will be just as nice :)
You can have all my twin vibes, I don't want to have them. Oh great, I will probably get them after saying this :P We have twins in our family too.

In response to what Robyn said fraternal twins are the females doing as i had 2 eggs that both got fertilised and with identical twins anybody can have them cause the egg can split for any women, at least i think thats how it goes lol.

Okay, I know I haven't been to the midwife yet to know if there's one baby or two (next week, after I'm 12 weeks) but we were talking to my parents last weekend, and I told them about my dreams. They looked at each other, and then Mum said "I think you guys buying our car off us is a great idea! We'd be happy for you to pay it off!"
We totally were not expecting that! They're going to figure out how much they want for it, but it looks like between $6000 and $8000... I can't believe this part seems to be coming true!

Wow Becca that is kind of freaky. Oooo now I can't wait for you to have your midwifes appointment. My mum didn't find out she was having two of us until 4 weeks before we were born, which is kind of scary, they could only ever pick up one heart beat and didn't really have scans back in those days.
