Heya everyone...

how are you all? its so hot 2day, that hot you wouldnt have to sleep in any blankets.

Well i went for a scan (wednesday just gone) just to check my dates, anyway the scan reckons im due on the 8th of July, here i was thinking the 12th, but scans arent always right so i reckon somewhere between the 8th and 12th it will come lol, i do hope baby will come early.

Even though this is my 3rd pregnancy, i was so happy to see my lil fetus on the screen, everything looked well, so thats good.

Well you all take care...

***lurker***

Kye, from memory I don't think you need a full bladder for the 12 weeker. Probably a good thing in your situation as you don' wanna be sitting in traffic with a full bladder

Congrats natty! Scans are funny things, huh. My 12 and 20 weeks scans have me due today , but my menstrual dates have me due on Sunday... So we'll see, huh
Good luck!

Hi everyone. Back to work today!

Im going in to check out maternity pants today as Im starting to get very uncomfortable.

Question: Does anyone have a Bicornuate Uterus?? I just found out last week I have one and so my pregnancy is now high risk and I get a specialist, from what I can work out it means my uterus is cut in half and baby only has half as much room to move around in.

Kye - parking in Parnell is going to be a nightmare tomorrow - is there special parking for the scanning place? And I think going through either Parnell or Newmarket will be bad! They did say there will be police directing traffic, so maybe just go through Parnell, as less traffic lights than Newmarket?

Also, we have a family bach at Lang's Beach, just around the corner from Mangawhai Heads - wish I could live up there most days!

And didn't need a full bladder for the scan.

Just borrowed a whole heap of maternity clothes from my friend - I checked out Pumpkin Patch on the weekend, but found they had hardly any stock; probably becuase they are in sale and are waiting for the next season. Have heard that Egg is really good too. So far I have just been buying cheap pants etc in the next couple of sizes up, but I'm surprised at how quickly even they are becoming tight....eek!

my grandparents bought the house back in the 60's (before Auckland found out about it! ), so we grew up there during the holidays... the house is now about to fall down , but we are planning to rebuild this year, and I'm really looking forward to having our kids create memories there, just like we did...

Doesn't ring a bell BellaBabysMum, but depends where you mean! Our place is just up the road from the beach (towards Waipu Cove), where more farmland (used) to be. We should arrange a Langs ohbaby meeting! Lol!

Hi all
I hate Mondays!

Spicey - I think you were talking about pants - I'd definitely try Egg. They have some black D ring pants that I'm planning on getting when I need longer trousers. I've found PP and JK quite disappointing for range - they are all leftovers from summer! I tried on some medium black pants in PP and they were HUGE - tried on small and couldn't get them over my thigh. Weird! JK has really comfy black cotton 3/4 pants which are fairly casual but have had to become work pants.

I went fabric shopping on the weekend and have made my first skirt. It is so nice to wear clothes that are "me". My mother only had two maternity sacks the whole time she was pregnant with my little sister - I have no idea how she coped. My mood felt much better this morning putting on a nice skirt!

Kye - I'd ring the ultrasound place and talk to them. They can probably advise you on local road closures. Just don't drink much first, as someone else said. Nothing worse than being stuck in traffic and desperately needing to pee!

Only woke up 5 times last night. It's amazing how your body adapts to being sleep deprived (scary, actually) but I'd love to get back to being a once a night waker. It is taking its toll - moody, exhausted, tearful - usally in the space of 5 minutes. As my sister patronisingly says, it's good preparation for having a baby. My baby better not wake up 5 times a night though!

Blondy, you're right about Green Bay CH for the yoga. Details are not my strong point when sleep deprived - watch out for my posts after bubs is born!

Better get back to work!

LOL at all this talk about Waipu Cove, Willie's mum is from Waipu and my girls have a part share in a tribal land plot up there

I had a super comfy pair of black pinstripe JK bootlegs when I was preg with the gremlins, they even fitted me right up to full term when I was ginormous, they were part of the winter range but I saw some the same in the outlet store at Dressmart a few weeks ago.

Went to visit a friend today who's wee boy was born at 24 weeks, last time I saw him he was in NICU and he was tiny, now he's four and a half months and still tiny but sooo much bigger than he was and soooo cute!

Seeing the midwife tomorrow.

Almost forgot to ask how your scan went Kye, hope the traffic wasn't too bad!

Had a look at Pumpkin Patch at Dressmart today, but still a very poor selection. Will just have to wait until the new stock arrives! Might check out Egg this weekend too. Very scary how quickly my tummy is expanding! (I'm sure some of it is due to my terrible diet the last 3 months...yay for no nausea now, and a better diet!)

Was meant to have a midwife apt last week, but I got double-booked out, so is now thursday - really hoping we get to hear the heartbeat

Kye that is all great news, you must be so relieved and pleased.

We had a big Saturday out and abouting, went to Pumpkin Patch up in Reading and I agree their maternity selection was pretty limited but again they are selling off all the odds and ends here too. Couldnt find any jeans, they had the ones with the massive elastic but at 15 weeks I dont think my wee belly is quite there yet! Got some nice black cargo pants though, with the elastic sides and buttons so they can be adjusted, should see me thru a fair while I'd guess. Need some jeans too though me thinks. Tops are not too bad as knit ones a size up seem to fit fine and make bump look impressive, tried on a maternity top and it hid it - wasnt impressed I love my bump!!!!!

Then walked for what seemed MILES and MILES to Babies R Us and played with all the various strollers, think we like this set up the best as we will have to keep the stroller down stairs (we live on third floor no lift) in the car boot or in the garage and it comes with a carrier car seat thing plus a sleeping carrier, so my theory is I can get bubs ready and bundled into either the car seat or the sleeping thingy and get down the stairs and then clip them into the stroller and off we go.

http://www.toysrus.co.uk/Product.aspx/bruorfindusing/bruazofbrands/brutravelgraco/725773

Phew hard work just thinking about the logistics.

My parents are getting ready to come over here for a year or two, I'm equal parts excited and worried, it will be great for them to be able to be part of baby's first few years but we have lived 5 years with no family close and are very unused to family obligations and pressure. We exist very much as a couple and are a bit set in our ways, having parents around expecting things from us will be hard to get used to. That sounds really ungreatful doesnt it, in some ways it will be wonderful and will shut me up from wanted to come home all the time but I forsee a little bit of stress also. They say they want to experience Europe etc and wont be in our pockets so fingers crossed it all works out for the best. Poor DH is terrified they are going to invade his life lol.

Hope everyone has had a good start to the week x

Welcome Kallie! When is your due date? I'm guessing quite close to the end of July... Does your local hospital have a team of midwives you can be assigned to? I know in Auckland you can choose the hospital-based midwives?

Yay Kye for a great scan! I can't wait till we have the next one and hopefully can see the sex.

Have started looking into what brands we want to go with for the major purchases, and have fallen in love with the OiOi nappy bag range! We are visiting DH's parents in Aussie for Easter, so will have to save my pennies up! (They are made in Aussie so much cheaper).

Have also been thinking about family being around after the birth - I know what you mean Kiwikid about having parents around! My parents have both passed away, and DH's are (obviously) in Aussie, but will be coming over to help out for a bit. I am very independent, and don't know how I'm going to adapt to having MIL trying to help/doing washing etc. I'm guessing I will probably be so tired that I will just be grateful for extra hands!

Good luck chonni for apt - strange to get told off for asking questions, maybe your MW was having a hectic week?

Blondy - I have an OiOi nappy bag, I heart it, it is one of my fave baby items. I was given it as a leaving present when I went on maternity leave with the gremlins and 18 mths later it's still in excellent condition despite being used all the time.

Kiwikid - I know what you mean about family, mine all up and left me for Oz when I was 18 and much as I love going to stay with them and having them come and stay here I also love my independence. It would be nice to have grandparents around as ready made babysitters tho!

Chonni - Your midwife shouldn't be telling you off for ringing her! Maybe she isn't used to dealing with twins, things can be a bit more complicated. Mine was brilliant but my OB was a bit of a grump, he complained about having to come up to the hospital to see me when I had a false labour at 26 weeks, and I was like WTF, this is what I pay you for!?!

Midwife this morning. Nervous coz I weighed myself and have put on 4kg since start of pregnancy and I really can't afford to put on any weight
