Fruit or a milky drink (even milo) would be better than crackers, chippies etc....at least you are getting nutrition from the former. I always find a hot milky milo fills me up.

Endless cups of tea - those really fill me up. Air popped popcorn while watching a movie. Chocolatte. Porridge (I know I know but it's yummy in winter and filling too)
Another trick is not having anything in the house that may tempt you - like me, I really really want some chocolate right now but we have none at home so I won't be having any. Works every time

Yeah, I drink lots of milo or ovoltine, it's a great winter warm up drink.
Jelly slice is a 3 layer slice. Base layer is crushed plain biscuits mixed with butter to a firm consistency and pressed into a dish. Next comes the condensed milk, lemon and geletine layer then topped with a layer of jelly....it is very yumm, kinda like cheesecake and just too irresistable to have in the house

I have always found a big glass of water does it for me.
I normally have dinner by 7.30pm, and normally have a big glass of water at around 9.30pm.
Snacking at night has never been a biggie for, I tend to snack in the morning instead.

mummy_becks, what about saving half of your dinner? So you eat half with the boys and then leave the rest until you are hungry later on. That way it's the same amount of cals/Kjs but just spread out.
Often, as someone else might have pointed out, thirst is often mistaken for hunger. So have a big drink of water and wait for 15 mins, most often people find they were not hungry but thirsty. On this point it's important to make sure that it is water you drink, not juice or sweet stuff as this 'feeds' the sugar in your bloods and makes you MORE partial to hunger attacks as your blood sugars drop quickly.
God, sorry to sound like a 'know it all' - just trying to help and realise I sound bossy.

I should of put that the juice I am drinking is Vita Quench as the water here isn't the nicest tasting. So not full of sugar liek normal juice.
Last night was good I was just drinking that not eating all the time. I did have a small bag of Dark M&M's that I spread out over the night, started at 7.30pm and finally finished them at 9pm. Even when DH came home I didn't eat with him (and he had a lot to eat). I think it could of been that way as we had a late dinner (well late in our house) at 6pm. Might try that every night.

Not going too bad here, last night I didn't get round to dinner but did snack on some fresh fruit bout 9pm, I know you're not supposed to eat 2 hours prior to going to bed but I simply forgot earlier, it was one of those nights.
Tonight, well kids and I were starving at 4.30 so instead of snacking we had dinner then at 5.30 we had picklets, jam and cream for dessert, not healthy but early enough not to bother me. Havinga pump bottle of water beside me to sip seems to be helping...as well as being too busy to even look into the fridge

I had dinner at 5.30 and then had some home made chips at 7pm and nothing since. I have my juice to drink.

haha I suck, I opened the cupboard and there sitting right at eye height was the nutella......I love straight nutella. Hmm so a few large spoonfulls later, can't stand the stuff on anything, it's just strange eating spreadable chocolate on bread . I also have a weak spot for teaspoons of milo, DH grosses out
