yeah we had that, mike was always saying "nah, i knew someone with that name" blah blah.

I had always thought that Brad, for a boy, was kinda ok... he completely vetoed that one because my ex just happened to be a Brad (come on it's a common name!!)

the only thing we really took into account was we wanted names that couldn't be shortened, couldn't be put together with a nickname, and we were to careful about what the initials spelt. even though mother in law ruined alot of good names, we were never COMPLETELY set andhappy about them at those times anyway.

I think in the end you just know - you eventually find a name and in that moment you know in your heart and head that it is the right one for your baby.. Ayja had been at the bottom of the list forever, it was just a name we liked - but never seriously considered - we didn't strike it off the list, but we had never contemplated it or talked about it at all, and one day when we were back at square one after having our current name ideas trashed, i just said to mike "how bout Ayja Nicole" and he didn't even think he was just like "yep" and that was it.

Thats what I have been waiting for with this baby. When we heard Kobe it was like, yep thats the one but this time round we have a list but hubby hates most of my favourites and the one I keep coming back to (that he hasnt completely vetoed) Im pretty sure people wont like but it just sticks in my head. Plus there are lots of names i like hearing but dont like saying if that makes sense. Hubby loves Trinity and I like the way it sounds but cant picture myself saying 'come here Trinity'

Kicked off for spamming!

Lol Robyn, we've got a girls name we keep coming back to! It first came up while I was pregnant with Josiah, and its stuck around! We won't be using it for this baby, but maybe in the future...

Rod's ideas and mine were *completely* different, as well. We argued about them almost all the pregnancy. We settled on Jacob for a boy because I wanted Jake (to me, there is no sense having a name, but not using it, mine is Anne- Louise, and I am NEVER EVER called that)but Rod didn't like Jake cos there was a boy in his sons rugby team named that..so Jacob was a compromise. Funny how He calls him Jake, and I call him Jacob or JJ. He had chosen (and please don't take offence anyone, but I am going to say BBLLEEEUUGGGHH)For a girl - Catherine or Jacquiline and for a boy (and this is serious, too, no joking here) AXEL BUCK.!!!!!!!!!!!!

In my class in Form 1, there were: 2 Scotts, 2 Roberts, Aliesha, Anita, Anneka, Pineka.

The only ones the teacher got mixed up were me (Rebecca) and Rachel!

My friends name was Ciana (see-arna) and my sil's name is sarica (sa -ri -sa) which I like. But Ciana often got Ki-arna instead, and got sick of correcting people.

I went to school with a Chastity - it ended up being quite ironic.

not wanting to ofend anyone, but (and this is just my opinion) what is the point if you have to uses a different spelling to show people how its said? annnnnd, I went to h/shcool with girl with a very unusual name who gets very sick of spelling it for people nd telling them how to say it and what it means..

I thought I'd spelt Kiya's name the way logically it should be pronounced: "kii-yah"
She gets called "key-ah" all the time!
