So what's the actual possible issue with custard powder? Can't personally recall having had any so far though.

Even while TTC i tried to avoid lots of caffiene in Coffee and tea so am quite use to decaf coffee especially the vittoria brand. If anyone is concerned about the caffiene in tea, then one to try is Rooibos, it is a south african herb tea, takes a bit to get use to the flavour but now i am hooked and don't really fancy normal that much anymore.

I have a question about dodgy foods - a couple of times I have forgotten what I am and am not supposed to eat - one day I had smoked salmon (bad i know but i didnt know it was banned at the time!) and i had a slice of ham in a sandiwch without thinking - I was wondering this: would we know if something bad had gotten into our system through those foods - i mean are we supposed to be avoiding them cos of food poisoning (in which case it would be obvious) or because of any other bugs that may or may not be noticed by ourselves?

WOuld I know if I had eaten a bad bug thing?

I could be wrong on this but I dont think you will always know if something is dodgy, I think it can affect the baby and not you but would be picked up in scans and blood test etc... I wouldnt worry to much though, it has to be pretty bad to affect the baby and the odd thing is when I was in hospital after my waters had broken on the menu everyday was sandwhiches that had meat in them and this was in the maternity ward which I found odd.

Robyn's right. The main reason all those foods are "bad" are because they are more likely to harbour the bacteria that cause food poisoning, or can affect bubs in some other way.
