Topic: am i strange Posted: 15 November 2007 at 4:49pm |
okay so since my miscarriage, i have found that i just dont want to talk about how the ttcing is going, i will post in the threads, but no where near as much as i use too, i feel like if i talk about trying to get pregnant again and i miscarry again that i would have just made a fool of myself.
I am wanting to be pregnant with all my heart, but for some reason when ppl now ask me how the ttcing journey is going, i tend to say "its going", i almost feel like they are invading my personal space.
And funnily enough while its not anyone from this site, any of the other forums i belong to and even my family i just want to tell them to all bugger off and leave me to it.
We have already decided that when we fall pregnant again, until we have past the 11wk mark that we wont be telling anyone (except for you guys, and yeap i have Kents permission on that one lol). Oh and our parents of course, so im thinking that maybe because of that decision and of course being scared of miscarrying again, that im just avoiding the whole thing...oh i dont know, now im just rambling...as you were...lol

Sounds pretty reasonable and normal to me Kaz. Your defence mechanisms trying to protect you in some way I suppose...

I agree. Also maybe you feel some pressure from others to "hurry up and get pregnant" by the constant questions?

I was the same after we had been trying for a few months all my friends kept asking how everything was going and was starting to get a bit upset (I was a bit naive and thought it would happen straight away) I just started telling them we have decided it not the right time for us and a month after that I was pregnant.

We didn't tell anyone we were trying and we won't do when we try for number two either (well I might end up telling you lot). I think it is fair enough to not tell everyone. We went back to England when I was 6 weeks and I felt a bit gutted that everyone found out when we had only known for a week, I think it would be nice to have those first couple of months to yourself so to speak.
Next time will try not to be flying to England at 6 weeks

Yes Kaz, you probably are strange (but not for having these thoughts)...... but then I know I'm a bit strange
I think those thoughts sound pretty normal/reasonable, I can totally understand the not wanting people "in your face" about ttc all the time!!

We didn't tell anyone we were TTC to start with so after the m/c I felt a bit 'exposed' coz then everyone knew we were TTC and I felt this pressure to succeed that hadn't been there before. Then when we succeeded first time round post m/c I felt like it invalidated the whole year we had been TTC in the first place, like I was a liar almost.
Hang on there Kazzle, you will get pregnant again and you will have another baby, and it will all be worth it in the end, it's just hard when you're in the middle of it to see the end in sight.

I think you are normal too. We never told anyone IRL we were TTC (but told everyone here). I think the TTC journey is a private one and you are entitled to keeping to yourselves.
Good luck - hope you get a BFP soon
