Topic: *insert swear words here* Posted: 05 March 2008 at 4:26pm |
I've had the most crappy 24 hrs..
Yesterday around now I started getting the most wicked sharp stabbing pains in my lower abdo.. waited for a bit and it didn't get any better. Got to 5pm and I thought right bugger this and off to the docs.
Doc finally sees me at 6pm after sitting in the waiting room in horrible pain and he tells me well you are probably miscarrying, here's a script for some pain killers and heres a referral for a scan in the morning and pushes me out the door.
Go to the chemist across the hall to get the pain killers and she said it would be a 30min wait . I snatched back my script and went home and sent DH out to get it.
This morning I had little pain, just a bit uncomfy. No bleeding what so ever.
So today I got my scan and they had to do a vaginal scan as well as the normal on ya tummy one and they think I may have an eptopic pregnancy and tell me to go to the hospital right now and see the on call gyne.
Sit there for another hour and I get seen by the nurse who takes my details etc and sends me back to the waiting room. Wait another 1/2 hour or so and she comes out and sends me off for urgent bloods. Come back and wait. A student doc comes and takes all the same details again and has a feel. Sent back to the waiting room for an hour!!!
Finally the gyne arrives, my hcg levels are 1121 which he apparently wasnt expecting and can't tell me what is going on. But decides since I'm there that I may as well get a smear done as well.
Then lots of backwards and forwards to the waiting room and finally tells me to go home and come back on friday for more bloods but to fast thursday night ready for an op.
They don't have any clue whether or not it's eptopic. The scan shows something abnormal but the pain is in the wrongish place and my levels are really good.
If my hcg levels on friday double it is apparently probably a normal pregnancy but ill need another scan to check. If they don't double it's under the knife almost certainly.
Grrrrrr Hours after being at the hospital sitting in the stupid waiting room I still know nothing!

OMG that is just awful. Huge huge hugs, I hope you get a proper answer on friday and don't get arsed around like me.
My gp rang this morning and apparently even though they saw a sac in the uterus it doesn't rule out ectopic so I have another scan next week, more bloods and more bloody waiting. Oh and strict instructions to ring if I get bleeding or pain. I just wish this was all over now

OMG Stace, let me know if I can do anything for you. I have my phone beside me at night so anytime is fine. Spec if you and Rich need to go to the hospital in the middle of the night I have a portacot here at the moment.

Oh that sucks! Why can't they just hurry up and give you answers! And what's with waiting 30 minutes to fill a script? - are they going to manufacture the drugs themselves?
