Topic: I just want to crawl into a hole... Posted: 02 April 2008 at 4:39pm |
.... and make my baby boy's problem go away!!
After his abscesses that he got back in January haven't healed up, he saw the Paediatrician today from Waikato, who comes to Tga once a month for an out-clinic day.
He said Jett needs to go under General Anaesthetic AGAIN (already been under twice this year) so they can find out what is going on inside. I HATE that he has to go through this!!!! I've been exceptionally tired today, and felt nervous/sick about this appt as I knew he'd probably need to go under GA again, and I DON'T want him too. Also we have to go to Waikato Hospital and I hate it over there. Away from the kids and family.
And the worst case, is that it could be Crohns causing it .
I just feel sick now and don't want to do anything but hug my little boy. He's such a happy little chap, it's hard to imagine what could be going on inside his little body. I think being tired has made me feel much worse about it all. I won't relax either till the surgery's done and he's awake from the anaesthetic.

Oh Italiah
I guess the positives out of this are that he's come through GA twice and been fine, and that he's in good hands.
I friend of mine has Crohns and has a fab lifestyle
It doesn't make it any easier, I know
Rico and Gia are old enough to understand that Mummy has to go away with Jett, I suppose? So they'll be fine
Big hugs to you!!
Whatever the outcome, Jett has a wonderful Mummy who cares a lot for her kids

My SIL has Crohns too. I'm sure they will be able to find some answers for you Italiah.
So sorry that your little man has to go thru this at such a young age.
Take Care.

Aww thanks girls.
I know Crohns isn't the worst thing one could have, but for him to get it this young is very strange.
I just hate he has to go through these procedures. It's a lot for a little boy.
Speaking of which he's being a grumpy bum now and needs to go bed.
Thanks heaps for your kind words, it's really appreciated!

It would be strange for a baby to get crohns My uncle has it, I think pretty bad... has had to have a few operations because of it, and works from home mainly because of the pain and other problems... but other than that he's actually done pretty well for himself.
I really hope that your little one is just feeling temporarily off

Thanks again chickies, you're all sooo lovely!
I so hope the news is good and he doesn't have crohns. But I do want to know what is going on in there. It's frustrating it's gone on this long. So I know that in order to find what the cause is, he has to have the surgery, so I'm trying to think that it's NOT a bad thing he has to go through, and once he wakes up I'll be there to give him the biggest cuddles and boobie-feed - as I have done the past 2 times he came around.

Big hugs Italiah and Jett! Poor wee thing I've got a Kidney Kid so I know how scary the unknown can be, but I have my fingers crossed that this will be Jett's last surgery and will give you some answers.
My brother has Crohns, but he pretty much ignores it, he's a bad patient. He was diagnosed as an adult but has always had digestive system issues ever since he was born, and had two lots of surgery on his stomach as a kid so it wasn't exactly a random diagnosis.
