I thought I'd try and temp this month (when I can remember lol).
CD 3 was 36.5 (was first day I had therm at home)
Forgot CD 4, 5, 6
Then CD 7, 8, 9, 10 have all been 36.5 aswell! Is this a common thing for everyday to be the same? I've looked at other charts and they don't seem to be like that. I bought a new thermo and have tested it at different times of the day (just to test it, not to chart), and it changes very slightly. So could my therm be faulty, or is this normal?
Thanks :)

It reads in 0.1 decimal places so appropriate for this. I bought it from the chemist. Its a Citizen brand.

If you only have a .1 decimal place thermometer you are more likely to get even temps before ovulation, so maybe if you wanted to be more precise, you could get a 2 decimal one. The cheapie I bought off trademe did me fine and I think it was about $16!

Isn't .1 more accurate than .2?

Just had a look on Trademe and there is one also .1, but says:

Digital display reads in 1/100th of a degree e.g. 37.06 C
+/- 0.1 Degree accuracy

Mine doesn't read with the 2 digits at the end like that. Might get that one and just use this other one for the medicine cabinet lol

That's pretty much what I've done. It's quite useful having a therm in the cupboard!
I brought a proper therm off a site in the US which was about $17 all up and has given me no problems. BBM put me onto it.

Yeah thats what I mean with the 2 decimal places,
so instead of 36.1, you'd have more accurate temps like 36.15 or 36.19 (which could be the difference over a couple of days, rather than having 2 temps on 2 days of 36.1 - if you know what I mean! )

I've ordered one from baby4you, so hopefully I can record more accurately then. Thanks for the advice :)

Bought it from here, as no one was saying the other sites they went to!
Oh well, never mind.

But out of curiosity...did either of you contact baby4you to let them know of the problem?

Nerefiti- I have the blue and white one from baby4u and it's fine. My temps aren't all over the show although the battery didn't last long..and the backup was flat .

But the BBT itself seems ok

PS this is my 6th cycle using it and you can see from my charts that it's pretty consistent. Helped get me pg last month and hopefully will do so again this month

OMG I just found out I have been using my thermometer all wrong!!
I was just clicking the button once to get the reading I'd done in bed (taking temp then just putting it down and reading it later).

Well, I read it this morning before putting it down and it was 36.2. Then I come back to it an hour later just to double check it and it says 36.5! Well...after actually reading the instructions, it says I have to hold the button down lol. So I did this and my correct reading came up! 36.5 was just the number that comes up each time its turned on! DUH! So now my chart looks like its taken a dive, but I have no idea now really.

Will still use new thermo once it gets here though, as after testing current one, I found it will only show last reading once, and if I get sidetracke I'll forget it lol. Plus hopefully new one will be more accurate!

Man I feel like a dutz lol

I did that a bit with mine too, the first therm I brought would tell me the last measured temp if I turned it off then looked latter. I couldn't work out why for 3 days running I had the exact temp. doh.

You know to take your temp first thing in the morning, the same time everyday?

Good luck, I hope the new therm works well. I now own 3!

I set my cellphone to wake me at the exact same time every day (whether I need to get up at 6am or not), take my temp, then put the temp in the cellphone calender and load that onto FF later in the day.

This way I never forget to temp (unless Caitlin wakes at 5.30am lol) and always have a log my temps on my phone and on FF

I was using a 1 decimal place BBT and would get flat temps, I use a proper ovulation one now that I got from the chemist, temps are much better now and I got my first ovulation lines!
