we had sort of a fairy theme for Ellas birthday.
We made a fairy cake and did fairy invites, also found some balloons from a asian shop with fairies on them. Also did fairy cupcakes and some fairy bread (plain bread cut into butterfly shapes with hundreds and thousands on it- Ella loved picking them off). Don't know so much about the pirates through- we had mostly boys at Ellas party but they were too young to care about all the pink

Sounds good. I wouldnt have a clue what to do for Tom's. We are thinking of going up to Auckland to see Grandparentsx2 and might do something up there. We would actually have more to invite then.
What are you getting Kylah for her birhtday?

You can always join ours Nikki? I dont know many people with babies so the more the merrier, i made a post in Mums Meet Up thread for invites..
We have got her a ride on barbie car, some cloths and one of those plastic play gym big things i dont know what they are called lol. She will be still too small for it but she will grow into it. It has a tunnel and climbing frame thing. And i want to get her a slide and swing.. Way OTT lol

The Plunket rooms here in Rangiora just ask for a donation to hire them. Not sure if Chch would be the same. Do you know who anyone on your local plunket committee as they would be able to tell you.
Planning kids birthday parties are so much fun, enjoy the planning!

by the time your child is six you wont think its so fun
but ! for Caitlyns 5th birthday party we had a princesses and pirates theme, you can get pirate napkins etc at the warehouse, and you could do a treasure hunt
altho they may be too young for that, for Caitlyn's first we didnt have a theme, she was more interested in throwing round the wrapping paper
tho, i must say, im already planning her 21st...got a nice little collection of embarrassing photos

Yip they have tables and chairs and a few couches. The only things you need to bring are cups and plates, they have some but i'm not sure how many.
