What do i get Kylah, shes still rear facing but her head is already at the top of her seat and her feet nearly touching the back seat? Does that mean shes too big for it?

what do you have at the moment?  We bought a convertible one for Tom when he was born and have just changed him forward facing...didnt have to buy a new oneit goes from birth to 18kgs (I think).  It is a safe n sound one from baby city.

I have one of those too.. maybe i should just turn her around..

It scares me turning her around cos she can get more hurt in an accident..

Kylah is still little enough to stay rear facing and I did read somewhere that it is better to leave them that way so if you wanted to I dont see it as a problem.  The article I read (god knows where) showed preschoolers sitting backwards and they just fold their legs up...they were quite happy.

I only turned Tom around as he was getting restless on our long drives into chch.

Keep her rear facing for a bit longer. Jack hated forward facing more because he could see me but I wasn't paying him any attention.

Have you got her still in a capsule or is she in a convertible seat? If you got a convertible then you could have her rear facing for longer. Kate is still rear facing in her Safe n sound here and shes only 9.4 kgs so I can keep her that way for a good while longer as it is safe rear facing until 12 kgs Then you just turn it around and they're 'supposed' to last until tthey're 4.

We only turned Benjy around about a month ago. He's 2 tomorrow and his legs had been longer than the end of the seat for a while too. He just bent them so he was comfy.
We have him in a convertible Safe n' Sound too.
If she's still happy rearfacing, I'd leave her that way for a bit longer.

We bought the brio zento (also sold through baby on the move) as it rear faces till 25kg. It cost $550 though, but I want him rear facing as long as possible. Its from switzerland as there they have to rear face till 3.
There are a few baby on the move places that you can make an appointment to go and see, we went to the rangiora one but there is at least one in the city as well. I found the lady much more knowledgable than the sales people at babyfactory/city. I already knew I wanted the brio zento though so it was just a matter of finding out if it would fit my car. Oh and she fitted it for me so no worries about it being in there wrong.

I think if her head is at the top, you should turn her forward facing, after all she is almost a year and that's the recommended age.
