What is your experience with these?
If you have one and are happy with it, where did you buy it and how much are refill?
If you have one, and don't like it....why?
We may be using a combo of disposible and MCN, but haven't fully decided yet.

I think they are a waste of money personally. You don't need one and the refills are expensive. All you need is either a bucket or one of those pedal rubbish bins and if you are really worried about the smell supermarkets sell nappy bags to put soiled naps in

I agree with Stacey, we got one off trade me and the damn thing p*ssed me off so much I gave up, and that was even before Caden was born lol. We just buy those scented nappy bags from New World, you get 200 for like $6.99 and they last us ages, I usually put 2 or 3 nappies in one bag, so they last us longer and then just tie them up and put them in the big trash sack.

Thanks everyone. I was thinking of just using those bags too Sheza...they are the blue ones? And just getting a bucket with a lid and keeping it in the garage (internal access). It was more something DP wanted to get. I've never used one before with the other kids, but can't remember the smell ever being a problem.

I agree with this - i tend to get about two or three in one nappy sack - and then sling it straight into the wheelie-bin outside (one of the reasons i got a wheelie bin!). If there is a very stinky one i will bag it and chuck it in the bin straight away . . .

I couldn't even get the hang of the ones at Birthcare, so I was glad I didn't buy one for home. I agree to just get the nappy bags and bin them - really not that hard to do and so much cheaper.

Yep they blue, you can buy one brand and they are in a small box and you get...50 or maybe 80 cant remember, but then there is the other brand where you get 200 and they are good, they are a bit smaller than the other brand of bag but I can still squeeze 3 sometimes 4 if Im running low lol, into them.
And like susiec said, if there is really smelly one, I just do the bad up right away and bin it.

Hmmm, I will go against the grain and say that I like ours!
The refills are expensive though, and that is the downside.
For us, we have a very, very warm house which heats up a lot and no garage or appropriate outdoor area for an outside bin, so that is why we got one. I couldn't stand the thought of bad stinky smells.
If we had had a garage, I probably would have done what others did though.

We got a packet of four refills from Farmers on special when they had 30% off. Usually the four packs are $65, so $45.
A refill lasts us just under a month, but Jackson is quite a poopy baby. They're lasting longer now that he is bigger.
Baby Factory have Sangenic units (also branded as Tommee Tippee - same thing) for half price at the moment.

We bought the Sangenic one at half price. Obviously haven't used it as not due till August and it is our first. Though this was an interesting read. I wouldn't have bought the unit if it was full price. So we will see how we go!! :)

I like ours too  I know most people say they are a waste of time and money but I like the convienence and as Lauri said, just stock up on the refills when Farmers have a sale.
