Topic: Any idea what this is? Posted: 30 January 2009 at 12:48pm |
Sorry the images aren't that great but they were the best I could get.
I keep finding this growth? on our clothes. I ran janola through our machine and then didn't see any for a while but now it seems to be back as I found one yesterday on a flat cloth nappy and then today on a muslin wrap. The wrap is new and has only been through the machine once.
We use ecostore and DH thinks that because that has no bleaches etc in it that that is the problem, maybe it is?
I have e-mailed ecostore to see if they know what it is. I've tried googling moulds etc but can't find anything that looks like this. It almost looks like a cluster of eggs.
All I know is it is really gross but without knowing what it is or where it is coming from I don't know how to get rid of it.
Oh and the whole thing is only about the size of a little finger nail so not very big.
edit to fix image.

Yeah I did think eggs and searched fly eggs but didn't think about spiders
I didn't notice the one on the muslin wrap until I went to re-wrap Kyle earlier, he had it on all night Poor little boy. I will be double, triple, quadruple checking everything from now on until I'm sure all the spiders are gone off the line.
Apparently we have some mortein stuff in the garage so the line will be done today.
I'm still totally grossed out, imagine if they had been on my undies..........ew, i've totally got the heebee geebies about it.

Yeah it's gross aye! We just scratch them off and rewash the stuff. Its worse when you put on a top and a huge black spider starts crawling up you

LOL, same here!
Mum always puts her washing in the dryer on a cooler setting just to get any bugs out of it. Don't think it'd work with eggs though.
Had to laugh at the undies comment

Yep we get those all the time in our house - and I terrified of Praying Mantis' too.
The spider eggs are grossing me out too - at least we don't really have poisonous spiders in NZ.
