Topic: Mucus Plug or heavy discharge? TMI beware Posted: 08 June 2006 at 2:39pm |
I feel silly asking this i have googled and dont wanna go to far into it as we all know bad the internet can be lol
Basically yesterday i woke up and had slightly pink tinged CM on my liner, then about half way through the day i went loo and wiped and there was like a clear/yellowy snot like CM on the TP, i have had this twice today again to, is this my mucus plug starting to make a move or am i just experiencing heavy discharge? I have been having what i would consider stronger than normal cramps (feels like period cramps) and baby feels like she is bouncing off my cervix.
Appreciate any input here if im still not sure ill call the midwife and talk to her but thought i would ask here first.
Thanks girls

Ummmmmm yeah from what friends have described it sounds like your mucus plug on the move and that baby is engaged...not knowing from personal experience though I could be totally wrong so give your midwife a call!

yeah thats what happened to me with kobe, it was my m/p but the midwife this time round did say that it can come away over a period of time and doesnt always mean you are going into labour, more that your body is getting ready but of course its different for everyone and I had Kobe 5 days after that and the pains I had been having the couple of days before hand were actually me dialating!

usually it means that within the next few weeks baby might be on its way.. just shows the cervix is starting to open up a little - enuf to let that come away.. certainly sounds like M/P though.. i lost mine about 5 days before having paris.
can't actually remember loosing it at all before Ayja so no guarantees

AYE!??!? I thought your mucus plug was supposed to be blood tinged (sp?)
Jess I have been getting the exact same symptoms as you and last night I felt that "lightening" where it feels like your whole bump has vanished - came back after a few minutes but I've certainly been getting a heap more discharge than normal and lower back pain which I thought was sciatica. I'm off to ring my midwife.... I wanna know whats going on in there now!

yeah it does normally have a bit of blood in it, mind did. Ive been feeling the same as you Toni, with the funny lightening thing but my midwife said it meant I was probably brewing to use her words but could still be weeks away.

ok, just got off the phone to my midwife and panic over! She said that all of the symptoms are "text book" symptoms of a hormone surge typical with this stage of late pregnancy and that there is nothing to worry about at all I feel heaps better now!
Let us know how you get on Jess

Gah i still havent heard from my midwife she must be delivering, shes been pretty busy lately.
Had had funny cramps over the past few days kinda like a sore tummy but not and also lots of BHX driving me nuts lol but im still here, i dont mind all this happening it just means the induction thingee will work when i have it in 3 weeks Im just sitting back and seeing what happens.
