QuoteReplyTopic: What countries have you visited? Posted: 29 September 2009 at 3:02pm
Travel-oholics love talking about traveling. So go ahead and brag.
Lived in: Canada and South Korea
Visited: Australia, South Africa, Japan, Philippines, Laos, Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, China, North Korea and Singapore
Best place: Laos! Cheap, cheerful, laid back plus they have yummy french food.
Wouldn't go back again in a hurry: Vietnam
Freakiest place: North Korea, where they don't let you leave your hotel without two government guides.
Only left the country once to visit my partner (now DH) in Florence, Italy. Loved it so much we are making a permanent move there next year!
Now I just have to get on to learning the lingo properly - I don't think my perfect rendition of common italian insults will get me very far
Visted: Thailand, England, Ireland, Scotland, Wales, France, Spain, Italy, Monaco, Germany, Austria, The Netherlands, Belgium, Sweden, Greece, Hungary, Czech Republic, Poland, Switzerland, Morocco. Some of them a couple of times each.
Best Place: Loved Krakow in Poland but that was before Easyjet flew there! Aside from that, anywhere in Italy.
Worst place: Morocco, some bloke grabbed my crotch as we were walking through the souk in Marakech (while with DH and some other people).
we did a day trip from Munich to Neuschwanstein castle, so not all our time was there. I always find that when I tell people I didn't like Venice they look at me as though I am mad! They always tell me how lovely it was when they went there (which I am sure it could have been ) but it wasn't when I was there!
Travelled to:
Fiji, Australia, England, Scotland, Ireland, France, Italy, Greece, Andora, Switzerland, Germany, Zimbabwe, Tanzania, Malawi, Kenya, Russia, Mongolia, China, Thailand, Singapore, Canada, Cambodia, Malaysia, Spain. And will soon be able to add Samoa.
Too many to chose a fave, but St Petersburg was lovely and loved the wild life in Africa and food and wine in France
Lucky you Mamma2N Florence is a beautiful little city, mmm Gelato - but hold your breath when you walk past stormwater drains especially is summer, lol.
Visited - Australia - Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Gold Coast, NSW, Adelaide, Canberra.
Wales, Ireland, France - love Paris, Spain, Portugal, Italy, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Belgium, Netherlands, The Vatican (technically a separate state), Lechsestein (sp) New York, LA, San Diego, Tijuana for the day, Vegas. Hawaii.
If weren't TTC and didn't have a mortgage to pay, I'd be travelling again.
I didn't like Venice much either, didn't live up to the hype, and mossies!!
Germany at Christmas time was my fav, the christmas markets are awesome, drinking mulled wine outside with my german friends was very spech.

Washington DC
Florida
North Carolina
Williamsburg, Virginia (like stepping back in time)

Destructa Kid (3)
Lived in: Auckland & Oldham (outside of Manchester, England)
Visited:
Aussie - Brisbane, Sydney, Adelaide, Tasmania
UK - London, Scotland, Ireland
Europe - Holland, Prague
Thailand - Bangkok, Phuket
Best place: Thailand been so many times, I love it there, would move and live there tomorrow if I could take all my family with me.
Worst place: Oldham lived there for 6 months, it was a total hole but we had no choice as it was for DH's job. There was a woman stabbed to death just up the road from us by the lady next door to her, all because their kids had a disagreement and also everyone was so racist......it was a long 6 months!!!!
