I feel so guilty writing this when I know there are lots of people around that can't even get pregnant, but I am one of these people pregnancy doesn't agree with. I had forgotten how bad it was first time around, and am now wishing we had decided to have one child only.

I feel sick 24/7, I can't do anything other than move from the bed to the couch, I can't concentrate on anything so therefore can't read and get restless just lying there. I could sleep all day but I have a toddler to attempt to look after too. My DH is away for a couple of weeks overseas so that makes it even harder. I'm sick of throwing up every day and having to go to work and act normal. I am only 10 weeks and looking at the next 7 months with great fear as I honestly don't know if I can do this again. With my DS, I had terrible morning sickness for the entire 9 months, and as this pregnancy is pretty similar I am expecting the same again.

My entire summer holidays have been spent in bed and I feel so guilty about my DS as I just can't do anything with him, and therefore he's been spending a lot of time with my parents (whom he adores and vice versa, but it should be me looking after him). We have always been very close, but now its DH (when he's home) that DS goes to when he's hurt and while thats great for their relationship, I wonder if this is my fault for not being there for him lately.

Please tell me there are others in the same boat as me so I don't feel so alone!!

Awww Hugs!

Pg doesnt agree with me either... I am quite jealous of people who just sail through loving every minute of it.

You are not alone! I am not sure how I will cope with a toddler and pg when do get pg again.

I was pretty useless up till about 17wks. Even though I did get up every now and then, I couldn't even go into the kitchen, couldn't go to the supermarket, could really only eat plain and plain coloured foods (apples, potato, rice) and spent most mornings eating iceblocks cause that helped.

But yeah I found it really hard feeling so sick all the time and spending a lot of my mornings in the bathroom.    And I also don't know how I will manage when we decide to have a number two. (though I plan on waiting till DS is at least 4 yrs old).

FX for you that it doesn't last long.

Yes, I HATE it with a passion. It does pass, once you start to feel better but even so, its enough to put me off having any more.

I HEAR YA!!!

Im exactly the same! Was sick pretty much the whole think with josh and this time round until last week i was in bed sick throwing up around 6-10x a day with family looking after josh but just before 11 wks i started feeling better and can now look after him on my own (after i have my spew as soon as i get out of bed and make myself a cup of tea and some vegemite toast).

I still feel ill on and off during the day but i can mostly control it by snacking but i was so scared i was going to be soo ill the whole way again. However now that the MS is under control (i still have bad days) i am so uncomfy already my tummy is tight and sore a fair bit (just stretching and getting fat) and my uterus must be putting pressure on something that doesnt like it and i cant sleep well and if i have a nap during the day i wake up feeling crook so have stopped naps so im tired and cranky and cant get to sleep till late at night.

ARRGGGHHHH SO OVER IT!!!!! I WILL NOT be having anymore kids because i cant handle it at all and am spending most of this pregnancy wishing it was over which isnt good. I hate being so miserable and missing out like Josh's bday a few weeks back i was the worst host. On nice days i dont have the energy to take josh to the park or anywhere oh and dont get me started on the crazy mood swings poor boy has been yelled at for small things because of it.

Sorry ended up being my own rant on it all. I hope your MS starts to fade like mine is i am mostly watching josh on my own again now. Hope your pregnancy FLIES by.

This has been on my mind lately too. We are trying to get pregnant with number 3 but my last pregnancy was AWFUL I'm just hoping that it was awful because I was carrying two instead of one lol. I'm hoping that a singleton will be slightly easier but I'm not getting my hopes too high

I hated it first time around, didn't really think about it 2nd time around other than not being able to eat for 40 weeks (hey at least I lost weight ). It's one of the reasons I'm stopping at 2, I don't think I could handle being pregnant again.

I hated it. I average the first 20w with morning sickness throwing up daily, usually more than once for about 6w of it. I gain a ton of weight even with throwing up that much.

I don't 'hate' it, but I dislike feeling sick.
With the twins - like you Lisa, I was so so sick and even ended up a week in hospital in NZ and then later on spent about 4 days in hospital in Aus, and felt like I neglected DS1 cause I just was so sick and had no energy (he was 4 at the time).

This time round with just one, I felt like cr@p the first 15 weeks or so and still feel ick throughout the day. I really wish I could be one of those that just don't get MS!!

So I feel for you. It really sucks and I hope it goes for you soon. It's great that you have that family support though cause it would be awful if you had nobody to help you out while your DH is away!

You arent alone. I absolutely loathe it and despite originally wanting 4 children this is definitely my last pregnancy.

I am sick from the moment I open my eyes in the morning until I close them again at night. Its debilitating.

And then towards the end of second trimester I get pregnancy insomnia. In my first pregnancy I was eventually given tranquilisers after 4 straight days awake. I was incoherent and couldnt give doctors my phone number of address.

Hate, hate, hate it!

I wish I could feel more grateful. I know its all worth it in the end but it doesnt help get through a hellish 9 months.

Hugs! MS sucks...

For my first 14 weeks, with a couple of hospital stays thrown in because of hyperemesis I could not understand how anyone ever did it more than once!! It's ok not to like the process! and it helps to vent!!!!!

I'm not pregnant right now but I saw your post title and had to read it.

I didn't hate being pregnant but I had a very difficult time with indigestion rather than morning sickness, I couldn't eat or sleep because of it for months and my doctor put me on a diet of plain food. I pretty much existed on Gaviscon.

We had a high risk pregnancy anyway so the stress and the indigestion together made me want to hit the fast forward button and get to the end. At my worst I just needed to lean forward and it would make me be sick with the acid that had built up.

You shouldn't feel guilty, you are going through so much and it can feel like your body has turned against you. So much happens in early pregnancy and I can't imagine how I would have coped with a toddler to take care of too, because I had days where I just needed to sleep if I could (usually sitting up and we had to push the bed into the wall so I had something to lean against).

It's not your fault that pregnancy doesn't agree with you. It's good that your son adores his grandparents and that they are happy to help out. And although I know it feels like it, this won't last forever. I really hope that you start to feel better soon.

Thanks so much for all the comments guys - you have made me feel a lot better about hating pregnancy so much!

WRXand Josh, I'm so glad you are feeling better already! And AzzaNZ, that is exactly how I feel, every single day, so I can totally relate. This is definitely my last too, to the point where DH is booked in for a vasectomy next month. There is no way I can handle ever doing this again, even if something goes wrong.

Lisa85 fingers crossed for you that carrying a singleton will be a breeze in terms on ms compared to your twins!

Thanks again everyone.
