How much do you pay?

when the new govt came in they changed it to 20 hours - not 20 free hours.

my kindy the fees are optional donations, so you can pay what you can afford.

Optional here too but the "recommended" amount above the 20 hours is $60 per term approx.

Ours is a little strange ..

At the moment Issy goes three part time days so after her nine hour subsidy its $159.41 per week or $7.59 per hour.

When SD goes back to school both kids will go in fulltime hours which is $206.41 per week after the nine hour subsidy, however if you divide that by the number of hours that the centre is open it comes down to 21c per hour! (The centre is open 10.5 hours per day) although if we calculate it on how many hours they will actually be there it comes out at $6.88 (since we think they will average 30 hours per week in care)

We may be eligable for a bigger subsidy once SD goes back to studying fulltime, but we will have to wait till the paperwork goes through to find out for sure.

we are $5.60 per hour for each child regardless of age at the uni creche. so total $11.20 per hour :) because of uni and it being on site and stuff i will be keeping them there til they go to school that way they still get to spend heaps of time at home so im not sure about the differences between kindy, creche and daycare costs and stuff sorry. at this stage we arent eligible for anything either until they turn 3 which is how i determine my workload at uni, how much crech time i can afford. lol

I think ours works out to about $340 for both kids to go four days a week and that includes lunch and snacks. I get the big subsidy though so only pay $50 a week...

We were paying $300 per week for fulltime daycare in the city for our DD.

We've now moved her closer to home and pay $230 per week.

Thats 07h30 - 17h30 and includes lunch and snacks.

In home care is fab!! I paid 250 a week for 50 hours not including food

At Isla's daycare the 20 free hrs are exactly that! We dont pay anything and all food is included! Its a great daycare too and Isla loves it.
It is Gisborne tho , plus most dayvares here u have to pay something on top of the subsidy I think. Hers is the Polytech daycare so dunno if thats why they dont charge extra?

I was paying $240/wk (incl food and naps) when Jake was in fulltime dc (didn't send him fulltime but any more than 3 days and the price was about the same, and I was contracting so my days changed each wk). Now he does 2 days, its $132 (short days would be about 94 I think but we've not bothered to change it as I like being able to drop him off a little earlier than 9am and not to have to rush back if Morgans asleep or we're busy). When he turns 3 it will drop to about $140 for a full week .... so $380 if both kids go in fulltime when he turns 3 and Morgan turns 1. Less if he does less days though, cos of the "free" (well, cheaper) hours (so about 200 for 2 full days or 300 for 3 full days I think).

Thats with no subsidy. Never even looked into a subsidy. How can you only pay $50 for that much care Rach???
