Argh, went to the Doctors today after having a cough and sore throat for a week and then yesterday getting diarrhea and just generally feeling crap

The diarrhea has created haemorrhoids or irritated some that were already there (seeing as it's supposed to be bought on by straining/constipation rather than the runs). And it bloody well hurts. Seriously do not recommend the combo of haemorrhoids, diarrhea and coughing (diarrhea burns the haemorrhoids and the coughing causes contraction, exactly where you don't want to be contracting with haemorrhoids....).
Anyway, the Doctor wasn't actually much help with the rest of my ailments but decided to prescribe me haemorrhoid ointment. I've got it home and went to use it but the instructions explicitly state "ULTRAPROCT must not be used by women who are pregnant, or who think they may be pregnant. If you suspect you are pregnant while already using ULTRAPROCT, you should consult your doctor as soon as possible."
In another section though it says:
"You must not use ULTRAPROCT if you are pregnant or think you might be pregnant. Corticosteroid preparations such as ULTRAPROCT should not be applied during the first three months of pregnancy"
So, you don't use it at all or just not during the first trimester?
Not sure I have enough faith in the Doctor I saw to go ahead and use it anyway. She's never seemed super helpful when any of us go in there sick.... But then she is a Doctor, so must know something.... Am in two minds about whether to use it or not. I'm sure there are other people on here who have used ointment for haemmorhoids - was it corticosteroid ointment and is it safe to use in the last trimester of pregnancy?
