People say Im being hard on myself but I cant help feeling like absolute crap. I see my self as a huge, fat, ugly, disgusting person. I know this is not the right frame of mind but I cant help it. It also doesnt help when Im wearing my pre-pregnancy clothes that dont do up (hehe) . I got up to 114kgs when I was pregnant and now Im 96.kg. Im usually 63kgs. im trying to do weightwatchers but cant keep away from chocolate. I have my wedding day in March and really dont want to look like this then. My tummy just wont go down. Its so flabby and has stretchmarks all over it.  I still look pregnant. My gorgeous wee son Jaxon is now 8 weeks. I thought that my tummy would have gone down by now. I did have a C-section too.

Is there anyone else out there that feels the same way??

Girlfriend, I think we all feel like this at times after having our babies. But I bet you a million dollars you don't look anything at all like you think you do. And, you had a baby only 8 weeks ago!! Give yourself a break After c-sections you get the hideous pouch, and it DOES go away, but it takes a long time..... My baby is 6 months old today, and it is JUST starting to disappear. I went up to 83kgs from 56kgs, and now I'm finally down to 61 so again, it takes time... Please stop giving yourself a hard time chick, it will get better I promise. Are you b/feeding or formula? Cos b/feeding helps to get rid of the weight I think.... Big big hugs to you

HI Clare,

Im breast feeding. Yeh I thought it was meant to come off quick but I suppose it doesnt help when Im eating crap. yeah talking bout a pouch, mine is huge. For my wedding day I might have to get some of those undies that hold your tummy in. lol.

Hope I can lose weight elsewhere though.

thanks for your support

It took me a year until it was all gone.. I was sooo skinny when Ella turned one, I look back at photos of myself then and I think I look too thin.. but for months after she was born the tummy stayed there, I think she was around 3 months when I could finally fit into some of my pre-preg pants.

Kelly I was the same but I didn't have a c section. I struggled with my weight up until my wedding and 8 weeks out from it I was diognised with water retention which expained a few things with my weight. 8 weeks after having a baby I so wouldn't be too hung up on it. Maybe a walk everyday will help and with the chocolate try not to have it in a place you can see it. Paper bag it or freeze it.
I was a puree feeder, forward facing, cot sleeping, pram pushing kind of Mum... and my kids survived!

Hey chicka im exactly the same, my weight used to be once upon a time 57kgs and i was 90kgs after having Ella. I have found even just losing 6.5kgs people are commenting and saying i am looking good! Perhaps get hubby to help you out? Do you attend the meetings for motivation? Is there someone that can go with you?

I got married three months after Harry was born...had to leave getting the dress made as late as possible because I wasn't sure of my weight and how pregnancy would change it. In the end I decided not to stress about it....I only had three months off work and I wanted to enjoy every moment of it (part of which was going out to cafes meeting friends etc).

As the wedding got closer I got a bit stressed but its more what my MIL and FIL was thinking (FIL makes loud rude comments about fat people) so it hard knowing they were probably thinking that but of course not saying it. Yeah they live in Aussie.

At the end of the day I didn't care what anyone thought. I thought I looked great, DH also thought I looked great and that was all I needed

Hang in there, honey... it does eventually get better! When Emma was 6 months old, I weighed 5kg MORE than my heaviest pregnancy weight -- and I was breastfeeding! I just let myself sit around the house and eat junk food all the time... I joined Weight Watchers two months ago and have lost about 6kg so far (it's slow going for me too, as I have a hard time avoiding chocolate). Which programme are you doing -- Points or NoCount? It can be difficult at times, especially when you're tired from looking after Baby and just want to grab some chocolate to make yourself feel better. Are you up to having a walk with the pram every day? Just 30 minutes makes SUCH a difference, I've found. (And earns you a few extra points on WW, which you can spend on chocolate!). Now that the weather is nicer, maybe you'll feel inspired to get outside and walk around a little bit?

My best friend had a C-section and she found that there was a little "pouch" there from the incision that people who have vaginal births don't seem to get. Hers went away after about 6 months, though (the pouch, not the scar!).

Where do you live? Is there someone who can go walkies with you a couple of times a week? Are you finding any support with your antenatal coffee group (if you have one) or Plunket? Sometimes having a friend to help you and encourage you can help, too.

And the old stand-by -- putting a photo of your wedding dress on your fridge -- or, if you don't want DH-to-be to see that, putting a photo of a sexy swimsuit or some other goal outfit up there to remind you what it's all about!

Hang in there! Sending you big hugs! :)

sure do, i weighed the same as you when i was pregnant and the same now as you do and Im desperate to lose some weight. When i started seeing my husband i was 49kgs, ok that was about 12 years ago and it gradually crept on. then onec i had kobe it piled on and ive finally hit rock bottom i think and have been really depressed about it. For the last 3 days i have been getting up early and going for a walk/run and watching what i eat then tonight i had fish n chips and am absolutely gutted with myself.
A tip about the wedding undies though, if they push it in some place it has to pop out somewhere else unless you get a full body suit. I went to a wedding where the bride obviously wore some to make her tummy flatter but you could see big bulges at the top.

So true!!  Us girls are way too hard on ourselves with body image and all that.  It's only been 8 weeks, chick.  These things take time, and I'll bet you feel far worse than you look.  You and your bod have done something truely amazing to bring Jaxon into this world, so give yourself some credit.  And hey - if a few new wardrobe items (stuff that fits nicely so you don't have to stress about tight pre-preg clothes or loose maternity ones) help, treat yourself to those.  Even if they only fit for a wee while then get too loose, they might be a good boost to the ol' self-esteem.

Andie

I got Nancy Ganz (sucky in pants) to wear with my dress. I found it easier to try them on in the shop and then ask if I could buy them and try them on with my dress to see how they looked. As I had lining in my dress you didn't notice that a little bit hung over at my legs. I love the pants and even wore them at my friends wedding with a tighter fitting dress and then again you couldn't notice I had them one. I did have the full "bike pants" ones. When I got them they were $65, a bit pricey but well worth the price in the long run. If you want a photo to see let me know.

You really have to give yourself time. I stopped losing weight for a couple of months and got all gutted but then it started falling off again at around 5-6 months. I hate walking so I used to go to the mall and walk round for an hour or so.

Anyway, this really has woken me up and today Ive done so well, aprt from the exercise part. Im starting a pram walking group in the area and will be in this weeks local paper so hope to get some good response. Also my partner said hed come walking with me after he finishes work. I hate exercise but hope to get used to it again. I thought breast feeding was ment to help you lose weight

hey kel thats neat that your partner will walk with you, mine has gone off walking latley and as for the breastfeeding and loosing weight thing, i have posted about it earlier in another thread but sometimes the prostegen (sp) realeased while bf can sometimes make a person gain weight rather than loose. it happened to me last time. it wasnt my diet or lack of exercise because i was eating really healthy and wlaking heaps etc everyday. and once i gave up feeding when emma was 5 months the weight fell off me literally. i went from 96kg to 72kg (when i got preg with kayla.)

I was trying to lose weight for my wedding...then i managed to end up in a plaster cast on my leg and couldnt exercise and gained weight instead of losing it in those six weeks or so...in the end i decided not to stress and just enjoyed the day....as a bride you are gorgeous no matter what!!!

Kel ... maybe focus at this point on how much weight has come off in 8 weeks, rather than how much you have to go?

I didn't put on a lot of weight while preggy, due to GD and having to be ultra strict with my diet. BUT ... I had a C-section too and Amelia is 4 months and I have a pouch sitting right around my middle ... yesterday was the FIRST day that I lay on the floor and did some tummy exercises.

I realise you want to lose weight for your wedding - focus on that and keep up the walking - you will get there!

Lots of weight loss dust to you
Selina
