Topic: Raid fly control cubes Posted: 29 January 2007 at 10:37am |
OK - the ad says that the "cube" (really just a long piece of cardboard that you fold into a square) keeps flys at bay... and it really does! I gave it a shot because I don't like using flyspray, and thought for under $5 it wouldn't be a tragedy if it didn't work, but it's good! Well worth it if you don't want to use spray in your house. It just has to be kept well out of a child's reach if you've got kiddies on the move.

Hmmm, may just invest in some of those.
But when it comes to ants the (very lovely) pest control guy has been back 4 times to treat our place and still can't get rid of them

Oh, I might check that out too! The expra does a pretty good job most of the time, but just outside there are heaps of flies which is not nice when you want a bbq!

my only concern is do they die in the box or arnd it or do the fly away? "i'd hate to have a yucky sticky box with dead flies all arnd it.

I'm in the pooper if it doesn't work now, Annie!
They don't die in the box - it just attracts them (which is why it wouldn't work outdoors) and poisons them - I saw 2 flies just drop from the air! It hasn't attracted any extras inside either, not that I know of anyway

We have had a couple of the boxes in the living room for a week now and I don't find them at all effective. No reduction at all in flies. I'd rather just give them a quick spray rather than hope that they might go to the box and then fly off and die. lol

I have found mine quite good, but yesterday, the flies were terrible, so I am thinking maybe the box is getting past it? We have a expra or whatever they are called in the lounge that reduces the flies heaps (bliking animals attract them) but weren't keen on having one in the kitchen nor do I like using spray in there. Over all, I think I will keep using these and see how they go..although I have found they tend to die near the box, which is on my bench..
