So another similar thread, but what are your standard meals you make?

We have alot of stir-frys, mince dishes eg spag bog, shepards pie, meat and 3 vege type dinners. I have to say tho i'm not good at meal planning and am often going to the supermarket to get that forgotten ingredient.

* Meat (sausages, cheap steak, chicken...) and spuds and veges
* Meatloaf
* Pasta and cheese sauce (usually with no meat, or ham)
* Spag bol
* Stirfry (beef, pork or chicken), mixed veg and rice
* Casserole
Will add some more when I think of them

chicken casserole/curry with rice
mince with heaps of veges chucked in and mashed potato
roast pork with veges and gravy
casserole steak, veges, mushrooms and mashed potato
macaroni cheese, sometimes with bacon in it
Hard to think of them off the top of your head! I don't meal plan either, I like having a bit extra in the cupboard, but I could definitely work on using up stuff that has been sitting in the pantry for a while.

during an average week we would have
chicken breasts (sometimes wrapped in bacon) with potatoes, corn, brocolli and cauliflower with cheese or mushroom sauce.
nachos
snitzel either chicken or steak with same vegetables
silverside with same vegetables
and some sort of steak with same veges (boring arent I)
Hubby isnt overly keen on stir fry which is annoying cos I love them.

I always make soup in winter - at least twice a week. It works well for light lunch or can make dinner if I add nice bread & pudding to finish.
We also love indian food so I try to make at least one indian meal eg butter chicken from a packet
I also make something with mince once a week eg meatballs in tom sauce/meatloaf/nachos etc
I also always buy sausages - they can make a quick meal when in a hurry with some (packet) mashed potatoes and (frozen) veggies
We always get cold meats too - again makes for a nice sandwich when you need it

We have about 2 pastas a week. (more if hubby had his way)
Then 3 meals with meat and 3 veg. (usually one fish, one chicken, one chop whatever meat I got on special ect.)
Then the other two really depends. Cant say week to week as such. But do usually do one meal a week like take away kind of food things. Like steak and chips
Or burgers and salad
or hotdogs (okay I know you guys call it totally different stuff here not even going to ask what it is)
Then boerewors rolls. Basically a sausuge in a roll with onion and tamatoes and cheese or whatever you want to put over it. \
Or tacos. Or something like that.

Mince- nachos, spag bol, meatballs and pasta, or burgers.
Fish pie or tuna rice bake (with frozen vege).
Roasts- usually Sun so we can use leftovers for lunches in the week.
Super quick stuff :
Pizza (pre-made bases)with lamb aria farm chips or chicken or steak, and whatever vege we have.
Burgers with chicken takeouts or homemade mince patties and salad, usually with wedges we make.

- Spagetti bolognese, shepards pie, or lasagne
- Thai Green Curry
- Pasta with tomato based sauce and kranskys or pepperoni
- Steak, mashed potato, carrots and broccoli
- Roast chicken (or something... chicken is usually cheapest option)
- Soup atm - pumpkin or leek and potato
I try and go through recipe books to get ideas to make the plan.

we have different stuff most weeks, only cause I love to read my recipe books. this week it's been from my new taste mag - which incidentally has a recipe for an apricot fudge pudding that it DELICIOUS. we have a lot of soups - cheap, kids love them and put sin lots of veges. i have a butter bean soup and a carrot that we eat a lot of.

that pudding sounds good, liz
We eat rather boringly, as Rod and DSS are very fussy and have plain tastes, so its usually meat and veg. Rods faves are my pet hates that I HATE, Roast and casserole, and I kid you not when I say that Rod has to have at least 7 veges when its roast day. (he cooks the roast)

Yum! I'm the roast eater here and would LOVE to partake of such a feast! As for my DH, he likes roast potatoes, and um, peas. Not even gravy half of the time. Booooooooring.

just to tease, its usually Roasted potatoes, kumara, parsnip, pumpkin, yams, and then carrots/peas/corn/sbeet which ever there is sometimes ALL. I just have the boiled veg and a bit of meat, although I am partial to pork crackle and roast chix leg.
