Topic: Back & Hip Pains Posted: 10 January 2007 at 6:37pm |
I've had a backache for a couple of days and just now I'm getting some really sore hip pains on the left side. Midwife told me to expect a few aches at this stage.
The backache doesn't bother me that much but the hip pain really hurts/is really uncomfortable when it comes
What's the best way to ease them?
Also what positions have worked for you guys to ease it?

Warm bath, propping pillows while sleeping, that's about as far as I can help with Unfortunately I'm now getting back pain from lying on my side, but I've gotta sleep lots and I can't sleep well on my tummy LOL

When I was pregnant we put a wool overlay on top of our mattress for extra padding and I also used pillows and that helped ease the pain. You could perhaps put an extra duvet on top of your mattress???

I find keeping active helps, soaking in a warm bath, and definatly sleeping with pillow between legs, underbump and against back.
With HAleigh I got quite sore back and hips, somedays I found it ahrd to walk, but once I walked for a while or did my antenatal exercises it felt better.

I had that exact same left side pain at about 17 weeks too. It bloody hurt and I just had to find a position I was comfortable in and stay there for a while. Although it usually hurt more when I got up. Didn't last long though. I haven't had any pains for weeks.

Yeah I have it too and it only gets worse and mine never went away completely after having Jack either. I find going for really long walks makes it so bad and haven't really found anything to make it too much better.

I went here while I was pregnant: Bella Mama
Ok so not that affordable for some I realise, but we bought a six massage package I think... and it was well worth it for me !! Ended up making friends with the lady that owns / runs it, which is great too (she was a support person for me at Erin's birth).
