Just wondering what people have used to try and keep stretch marks at bay and keep your bump nice and supple?

I am too lazy so am embracing stretch marks as the only one that sees them is hubby, and I call them my mummy badge.

Hi ya - apparently, strechmarks are genetic and if you are going to get them - you will get them - no matter what you rub on your tummy. I already had strech marks from my previous pregnancy but I have still been lathering myself in Palmers cocoa butter every day to try and minimise the new strechmarks. I am only now starting to get a few new ones and it smells soooo yummy. Every little bit of pampering helps to make you feel good when you're pregnant.

I'm using baby oil to keep my bump skin supple, a friend recommended it. There's not much you can do to stop stretchmarks if you are going to get them. If your mum had them chances are you will get them. Luckily my mum didn't have them so here's hoping.

They are genetic so if your mum has them its pretty much a certain you will have them. However I have been told that after you get them and after baby comes to use bio oil and that is meant to help with the taking away of them. A woman I know did this and she ain't got any now.

I've heard some great tuff about bio oil but mainly for after the stretch marks or c-section scars have appeared. i loved the butter range from the body shop[ - also like the cocoa butter but my hubby kept saying I smelt like "off-chocolate" which put me off slighlty - mango butter was nice. i think most of it is just something nice and relaxing you can do for yourself, I too am a thinker that the stretch marks are gentic. Neither my grandmother, mum nor myself got them while pregnant. While NOT pregnant...well thats a differnt story!

I don't see the point in trying to prevent stretchmarks since like the others have said they are genetic. I will however use bio oil after the baby is born to reduce the visibilty of them if I see the need

I also have some funky lavendar and something or other stretchmark cream (nice MIL gift huh?) that feels nice at night but is very greasy for daytime...think it is working too - ive run out of biooil....off shopping tomorrow...

I didn't bother with creams etc as I already had stretch marks on my hips from puberty! As it turned out I got not a single one with #1's pregnancy but lost weight so quickly afterwards that I got them then They do go silvery after not too long so mine don't bother me.

I got terrible stretch marks first time round, and second time round I got stretchmarks on my stretchmarks. But to be honest I didn't use any cream, perhaps I should have?

I'm a bio oil fan too, seems to be helping them fade, but used all sorts of things during pregnancy and got a ton of them anyway ! Didn't really bother me though as I have already been there done that with previous weight gain / loss etc.

I'm using bio oil but still got some - funny enough on the sides of the tummy where I hadn't thought of using it at first! My actual tum (the round top part) is fine so I'd def recommend bio oil - just remember to use it everywhere.
