Topic: Pats on the Back! Posted: 22 June 2010 at 4:48pm |
I was thinking mums don't get a lot of appreciation for the work they do, so we could start a little pat on the back thing here!
Post 2 things you are proud of that you've done today (doesn't matter how small/trivial), and 1 thing you're not so proud of that you are going to put right, if you haven't already.
I'll go first:
1. I'm proud of myself for taking some time out and reading a magazine at Starbucks. Wasn't baby-free but was relaxing.
2. I'm pleased that I made the effort to make Nathan a wholesome lunch.
3. I'm NOT proud of having a go at DH... but I did apologize and told him I love him

I hung the towels out.
I put dinner in the crockpot.
I actually don't think that there's anything that I've done today that I'm not proud of...

I'm proud of...
1. Trying the girls on more new food, which went down a treat.
2. Earning a decent paycheck this fortnight (I found out what I got paid today, so I class that as today) which will help with next month when I don't have a lot of hours to help pay the mortgage...
I'm not proud of...
3. Losing my rag slightly on an online forum.

1) Persevering at getting Morgan down to sleep. Took 25 minutes but we got there
2) Not eating all the chocolate in the house
3) Taking Morgan to bed with me for the midday nap. In my defence we're both still recovering from HF&M so I needed the nap and so did she.
And lots of to my beautiful Rowan who slept in her own bed at midday (so I feel a bit like I left her out) and has been very well behaved during the 25 minutes I took settling Morgan.

1/ No yelling in our house today
2/ Got some washing hung on the line rather than lazily chucking in the drier haha
Today was a good day. Don't think theres anything today I'm not proud of - my excuse for not getting all the housework done is coz I'm sick

I'm proud that I managed to get a load of washing washed and dried.
The main thing I'm proud of is seeing my daughter

Wow caliandjack, a girl! Congratulations
Proud of...
1. Getting a lot of work done from home (when I work from home it's usually not very productive) and taking time out for myself
2. Not so much today, but the reward was today: leaving Jack at DC and he didn't scream - this is after he realised the carer we had issues with has been moved out of the centre after we made an official complaint. He's so much happier and I feel proud that I stepped up as a mum
Not proud of...
1. Being angry or disappointed that DH is 'only' going away for 6 weeks - 4 months as a) he needs a deployment for sanity's sake, and b) we need the money to do up our house. How bad is that?

I am happy that I got all the washing done today, 3 loads, cleaned, dry, folded and put away.
I am happy I made dinner off the top of my head (ie no cookbook and minimal ingredients) and it wasn't a disaster.
I am not proud of my expressing efforts. My Dad is looking after DS while I get my hair done tomorrow and I've been putting off expressing all day, so just did it then and only got 70ml. Will try again in the morning though.
Heidismum - $10,000, that is amazing!!!!

Great idea for a thread!
I'm proud that I managed the whole evening routine by myself while DH is away for work - including cooking dinner for our friends and dealing with the boys.
I'm proud that I persevered with getting my big boy to bed and wasn't too much of a soft touch.
I'm not proud that I ate too many toffee pops.
