I have to go have my GTT after polycose test results were high.

Has anyone had the 2nd test? Did you end up with GD or not?

Not all high polycose tests will lead to high glucose tolerance tests - but there is of course a chance. How high if you don't mind me asking was your polycose?

My initial polycose result in first pregnancy was 10.5. Then the 2 hour glucose tolerance test came back at 9.5 at 2 hours. SO yes lead on to GD.

I do know however, 3 other friends who had high polycose tests, but normal GTT's and were diagnosed with "imparied glucose tolerance" rather than gestational diabetes.

Probably not much help though sorry!

I had the second test and it turned out to be nothing. Can't remember how high my results were though.

I failed my polycose but passed my GTT.
10.1 is quite high though, did you eat anything high in sugar right before?

Fingers crossed for you

I had McDs for breakfast, think it might have been the bbq sauce or the oj that did it.

I've failed the polycose test, done the tolerance test and passed. I am/was deemed high risk for gestational diabetes as my mother had it with all 3 of her pregnancies. With my 2nd and 3rd pregnancies I skipped the first test and went straight to the 2hr one...passed with no problems. The failure rate for the polycose test is pretty high, so try not to worry too much

With my first pregnancy I failed the polyglucose test and passed the GTT at 28 weeks, but had to take it again at 33 weeks and had gestational diabetes then so it could be a sign that you are at risk for it.

They should definitely be back. Glucose tests have to be tested relatively quickly!

Not sure when I'm going to get my results though. MW is away and the clinic is only open Wednesday and Thursdays, wonder if I can call Medlab directly for them.

Medical laboratories wont normally give results to the patients. I couldnt even get my results off the hospital lab when I worked at the hospital (unless I looked them up myself). Could you ring your backup mw?

hey i have my midwife appointment next monday - if i do my GTT on wednesday will they have the results to her by then? i could do it in the morning tomorrow, but i start work at 11, so that might involve getting up extra early :-/

do you need to make an appointment to do it?

also, does it take much longer than the 1hr?
