Topic: no baby for me Posted: 26 April 2007 at 1:41pm |
Hey all, I went for my 12 week scan today - I was prepared for bad news as I began off and on bleeding on Monday night - nothing too heavy, but with clots and cramping which worried me.
My m/w suggested me on Monday night to wait til today's scan (as it was already booked) and when I had it my fears were confirmed - there was no heartbeat and the baby had only grown to the length it should have been at 8w2d, and I should've been 12 weeks yest.
I still felt (feel) pregnant, just had not much m/s over the past few weeks which I thought was a blessing!
I am glad that I had gone in to the u/s knowing that if there was a heartbeat it would've been a miracle - I had given myself the last 3 days to get used to knowing that it had a high chance of bad news. When the sonographer measured the baby and saw no heartbeat it just confirmed what I already knew and felt inside.
The only thing I am annoyed with is, it hasn't been growing or have a heartbeat for almost a month! That's so unfair! How could I have got to 12 weeks and this happen!!
We are looking on the positive side though - we know we can conceive, I'm still young (26years) and I live a very healthy and active lifestyle. I didn't do anything wrong - did everything by the book and this still happened.
Big hugs to everyone who gave me positive thoughts before my scan and hopefully I will re-join you in a couple of months!

oh sweetheart, I am so sorry to read your news, my thoughts are with you.
It's nice to read you are trying to be so positive and strong, just don't forget to grieve, you & your DP don't have to be strong during times like this, thats what your friends are for

Awww Emachan that's so sad When I had my m/c last year it helped me to know that an estimated 25% of pgs end in m/c - which is very sad, but it reassured me that it wasn't necessarily anything I had done, but actually a far more common occurrence than I had realised. Even so, it's a very sad time to go through and you may always wonder "why" and "what if". Big hugs! And if you have any questions, feel free to ask us - there's quite a lot of us on here who have had m/cs now.
