What are your plans for Father's Day? What sort of surprises have you and/or your kids come up with for your partner/Dad?

Still working on this one. It will be his first father's day with 'our' baby, now 8mths, he has a 9yr old daughter that I thought I might get her to help make dad a special breakfast & somehow rope baby into it. We have the usual kids swimming run in the morning, so no doubt he will get kids jumping all over him.

We have Father's Day a week earlier due to me being away Father's Day weekend every year.
But the boys made dad breakfast (eggs on toast) supervised by myself. They took it into him so he could have breakfast in bed. They spent all day with him doing boy things.
On Father's Day itself the boys will be with their dad, he will have to make breakfast but they can give him the presents they have made him at pre-school and school. I have arranged a present that the oldest can give him.
For my dad with im being overseas I txt him to wish him a happy fathers day and will call him when I am back from my weekend away.

I was a puree feeder, forward facing, cot sleeping, pram pushing kind of Mum... and my kids survived!

breakfast and coffee in bed, massage feet from the kiddies, letting him do all his manly things without me moaning at him (thats usually what happens haha!) and a huge roast dinner with all the bits and bobs. hes a easy man to please. for my father and my father in law - they will just be getting a home made card from the kiddies and a lotto triple dip :)

my 20month old will help get dad breakfast in bed, and then we will head for lunch to his fathers house, where we meet up with other family, and then in the afternoon we head to my fathers house. The special treat is that my husband doesn't need to change a nappy all day lol.
i will also let him play as much XBOX as he wants without complaining

First fathers day for my hubby our twin boys are 6 months. So they have got him a very cute personalised card and mug with their photo on.
I am going to make him breaky and then we will spend rest of day with my parents and family :)

we have recently had our 2nd baby boy on 9th August & have a 2 1/2 yr old so I had a mug made with pictures of the boys on it for fathers day & also got a 1kg box of roses chocolates as my husband has a sweet tooth. he doesn't eat breakfast so breakfast in bed isn't an option..
We are having a roast lamb lunch at his parents & will also be celebrating his birthday which is on the Monday so he is very lucky to get 2 lots of presents, 2 days in a row. Last year it was on the same day!!

We are away this year for Fathers day (DD is staying with family) but as a rule we don't generally celebrate things like mothers/fathers day, valentines day etc. Why just celebrate these things one day a year, why not 365 days of the year?

Well hubby is getting band hero for xbox as a combined birthday/fathers day gift as he still had money left that he was given on his birthday. So I imagine he'll spend some time with the girls playing that.
We're going to a bonfire with friends the night before so we'll probably have a fairly quiet day in most parts but we also plan on shining torches into the sky at 7pm in support of our region (Canterbury) with the 1 year anniversary of the first quake. (http://www.radionz.co.nz/news/canterbury-earthquake/83680/lights-to-beam-from-cathedral-square)
As far as for my dad I have some aftershave to send up to him and will get the girls to do cards this afternoon when my eldest is home from school

Hmmm not sure what we'll do this year. He doesn't sleep in so that rules that out. It's usually a usual day for us. I'll get the kids to do homemade cards to give to him.

We are going to go for brunch for Father's Day using a grab1 voucher we bought and my son made Daddy a picture at playgroup last week (which I put away carefully and have forgotten where it is!) My husband is really looking forward to Father's Day, makes him feel really special :)

He is having a boys night out on the Friday it is our wedding anniversary on the Saturday and so Fathers day will be a quiet one on the Sunday our first with our 5 1/2 month old twin boys. Have framed photos for him and the boys have new all in ones with daddy slogans on them. If the weather is good a trip to the beach for a walk and then a roast dinner are on the cards.

It'll be DHs first father's day, DD is 9 months old.
We're going to let him sleep in, and while he does that we'll sneak off to KFC and get a family feast or something to bring home for lunch. KFC's his favourite takeaway. I've also got him a photo mug from Snapfish and we're going to work on a card today - I like the handprint one that I saw on the ohbaby homepage today!

We will do breaky in bed and DS is making cards for DH and the three grandads (will post the grandfathers cards tomorrow).
I'm going to let DS go mad on some paper with his paints and then do a handprint on the back page.
We will just spend the rest of the day enjoying it as a family, I don't believe in going crazy for Fathers Day/Mothers Day etc, doing something nice together is the best gift IMO

DP is coming with me to Playcentre on Friday (his first visit!) so I'm going to get him to do a handprint on canvas (one of the blank white ones from the warehouse) to go with the 2 individual ones Miss 2 and Mr 6 months have, then they can hang on the wall together Have also printed off several memorable moments photos in 4x6 and put them together on a multi frame board (the older 2 meeting Darian in hospital, DP holding Jae at a few mins old, the last family photo of DP's before his mum passed away, and several others of us as a family, him with one or more fo the kids etc)
And a bucket of M&Ms cos he likes them hehe
