Crowning, when the baby's head is coming out.
It is very very painful (as I mentioned in your other thread) but not everyone gets it and its usually over with one or 2 pushes.

Depends on how much pain relief you have too, although generally speaking the less relief you take, the more in control you can be. In saying that, I'm too much of a wuss to go without any pain relief

I had a very definite 'ring of fire' when Maya crowned (right about when I was screaming 'I can't do it anymore ), with the gremlins I had the same ring of fire when they crowned but it didn't seem 'painful' as such.

Not everyone gets it,I was one of the lucky ones who didn't have it last time (although I've cursed myself now for this time!!)
I had no pain relief which may have helped although don't know if I'll be that brave this time now I know whats coming, arr ignorance was bliss last time!!

lol i never felt the ring of fire (no i didnt have an epi), omg does that make me loose , ha ha nooo i think that because by the time my babies were crowning they had turned into the right birthing position and the back pain stopped and nothing could compare to that. Although Jayde wiggling on her way out was pretty bad.

I had this with Andrew and called it the stinging bit. As it felt like it was stinging really bad and I wanted to itch it away. Josh I didn't get it as bad but did feel a little sting as he crowned.

ahhh the ring of fire, i got that, right about the point where i decided after a labour without the pain relief that i wanted , that mother nature was an idiot, and someone was playing a very cruel joke.
It felt like someone was burning cutting and tearing my "you know what" ....BUT, good thing is the rest of babys body is all slippery and works almost as an ointment, besides the ring of fire is over in a couple of pushes-if you even get it

I only had a bit of gas but it was still agony, definately the worst part of labour it honestly felt like I was being ripped open (which i was). I'm hoping I'm all nice and stretched so I won't get it this time.

Sheza hopefully you are one that doesn't get it. Although it is really painful its not for very long and its the bit right before you meet your baby so its not so bad.

I don't even remember it to be honest. There was too much else going on at the time. It didn't hurt anywhere near as bad as pushing the head out through the pelvis though and by that time you just don't give a damn anymore so long as it gets out!

Yeah hopefully hehe, but if I do get it, oh well, like you said its the bit right before you get to meet your baby, so you know that its almost over
Im trying not to think too much about labour and stuff or I will scare myself, plus I need my BFP before I need to worry about all the other stuff
but hopefully this month I'll get my BFP.

I was at youth group concert and we were meeting outside, me and a bunch of some guys. We were joking around, a bit boistrious (sp) and this random lady just starting talking about the "Ring of Fire" and telling us 15-18 year old MALES about it.
There was dead silence while she talked. Then she went away. There was dead silence for about 5 minutes after. One guy said "I think I'm gonna be sick", all of us looked at each other and didnt know what to say. Then I said "Where did that come from?" To this DAY, I dont know where she started talking about that, cuz we didnt say anytihng about FIRE or RING or anything that would set her off like that...
