i found that as well, and after asking on here, i found washing in 1/2 white vingear and 1/2 baking soda, then 1/2 vinger in the final rinse, then putting them through again without anything that the stains came out, and they dont smell, and if possible hang in the sun

My nappies don't stain but my inserts do.. putting them in the sun really helps a lot. But I really don't care too much about the stains to go to all the effort of trying to wash them out.. too lazy

I got stains out of my mcn with napisan - they don't stain often though, so I haven't done that much.
As for the insert stains, I guess it really doesn't matter so long as they don't smell, using eco powder and the occasional strip seems to be ok.

I've heard from a customer that sunshine (even through the window) gets rid of stains really well

Sunshine is the answer, it's the UV that does it. I never knew about it until my mum suggested we put DD's lovely woolen singlet that got meconium poo all over it in the sun to get the stain out (after washing it, of course). Worked a treat.
Apparently you can also hang stuff out on a cloudy day and the UV that gets through the clouds will still whiten, just takes a bit longer.

You'll probably find that they will fade out if you put them in the sunshine a lot. It's what my older stains are doing. Each time they go in the sun they disappear more and more.
