Topic: Hawkes Bay mums?? Posted: 29 October 2005 at 10:32pm |
Since there are so many palmy mums on here I was wondering if there are any other Hawkes Bay mums on here. I'm reasonably new to the area so it would be nice to meet some other mums in the area.

I am technically in HB as well! We live in Dannevirke now but we lived in Hastings for a bit. I come up every now and then to the Hospital to visit work friends, so if you going to get together I may be able to come too!

hi kiwimummy
hey waipuks not too bad. i was living out tiko for a year which was good for some head space but got abit lonely so headed into town. was originally wanting to go hastings/taradale but rent is soooooo expensive up there. but am lucky here as knew a few folk b4 moving here. my friend of 25 years grew up out at onga so used to come and stay most school holidays as a teenager and party hard . and slowly getting to know more ppl which is cool

Thanks kiwimummy. For some strange reason I'm a lot more nervous about this birth than I was about the last one. We are planning to have bubs in the Napier maternity unit as long as everything is straight forward. Now that it doesn't seem like bubs is going to be on time it will also be a matter of if they have any beds.
We should definately try and get to together sometime if there is ever a time when everyone can be in the same town at the same time!
Let me know if anyone is going to be in the area we could meet up and let the kiddies have a play together.

How old are all your kiddies? I have a 4 1/2 year old son and number 2 is due in April next year
I had my son is hastings HelenElla, I have had several friends transfer over to napier though and they said it was fantastic there! Nice and quiet, alot more than Hastings I would imagine. Do you know if bubs is a girl or a boy? I am dying to find out with this one!
Marlene waipuk has improved heaps since I grew up there, alot more shops now! I agree rent up here is ridiculous, along with the house prices! Glad you are finding your way around and getting out there, makes life easier when you know a few people!!
Better get myself organised for the day, bye for now!

Chloe is 2 and a 1/4 and bubs was due yesterday, we haven't found out the sex which is making the waiting even harder. We have always lived in Napier since i've been here because Josh works at Hawkes Bay Toyota but the cost a rent is horrible, and we are keeping our eyes open to buy and that will probably be in Hastings. I must admit I really enjoy Napier but if we won lotto I'd love to buy in Havelock North. We usually end up driving out to Waimarama on the weekends where Josh's father has a lifestyle block so we don't really spend too much time in town.

yeah havelock north is awesome aye. we used to live there when i was younger even went to primary there and my nana lived there for years but its even more expensive than hastings/napier aye. got friends who lived there and stayed with them while was looking for a rental and i loved it. the schools are really good there 2. and i love waimarama and ocean. arent they jus the best beaches!!! although i must admit the beaches down here are pretty fantastic 2. am really looking forward to taking the boys to the beach over the summer.
i didnt realise they had a maternity unit in napier - thats great. i have a few friends that have had their bubs in hastings - they have the coolest big bath there.
oh and my boys just turned 2 mid oct - the terrible 2 phase arrrgggggg!!!

Oh no the terrible two's times two! When I told one of my friends that Chloe had started acting like a terrible two as reassurance she told me it only lasts until about 3 and a half!! We have mastered the art of the naughty chair we started it as soon as she started to push the boundries and it worked wonders, we don't even really need to use it now, we just give her a warning and she's good again!
The prices in Havelock are stupid, I was looking in the paper last night and for an average 3brm house it would be over $440,000!
