Some of you might remember a few months ago I put a thread up about my friend who passed away suddenly three weeks after the birth of first daughter.

I went and saw her daughter on tuesday and thought I would post an update.
Its been almost 2 months (already?!) since my friend was taken so suddenly and for her family and close friends the pain hasnt lessened much, she was such a fun girl, really loving and cared about all her family and friends so much, and it still feels so unfair that she had her whole life ahead of her, with her husband and baby and was taken so soon.
But, one thing she did leave us with was of course her daughter, and what a delight she is.
So pretty, and such a relaxed baby, she often stares beyond you and fixes her eyes on one spot and "talks" and laughs, perhaps her mummy is visiting her?
Her mum didnt get to see her turn a month old (she turned a month old incidentally, 2 days after her mums funeral) or see all the daily things we take for granted, her smiling, or crying, her walking, her first words, her sleeping peacefully after a long night of crying....but i know this, wherever my friend is, im sure she watches her daughter everyday, and is going to be there through her whole journey in life, through the tears and the laughter, she would be so proud of her girl, and so she should.
Nothing will ever replace her mum, and nothing ever could, but i for one thank god for her daughter, that her family and friends were left with this most precious gift.

yeah, she had a blood clot on her lungs and it travelled to her heart and burst-it was very sudden , she was only 23 exactly a month before she died

What!! What an awful way for it to have happened! Did she have any idea about the clot?? Things like that freak me out, that's my ultimate fear - to die & leave my kids behind this young.

My heart goes out to you & her family. I bet that baby girl is well treasured.

no, she had no idea, on the tuesday she was short of breath, went to the doctor on wednesday who said it was stress of the pregnancy or something, thursday she went to a&e same thing happened, friday her mum took her to hospital they gave her some blood thinning things and transferred her, being her she laughed off the idea of a stretcher and said she could walk, got halfway and fainted...and never woke up.

Yeah , thats my biggest fear as well, and its silly and naive but until this happened i thought it couldnt happen to me because im a mum, and im needed

thanks everyone for your kind words.

Yeah her husband is doing well considering theyd only been married for less than a year and hes only about 27 and has found himself a widower and now a single father, hes got a lot of support tho .

Her mum is really struggling tho,but then you would i guess especially if you saw your daughter pass away in front of you (it was just her there), so her granddaughter is understandably very precious to her.

Man, life is precious, we should all enjoy everything that comes with it while we can.

Its such a sad story!! Its such a shame when such beautiful people are taken from us far to early - and especially in those circumstances!

At least her daughter will have amazing people like you around her while she grows up to help her learn all the wonderful things about her Mum.
