overnight I SWEAR I cant fit any of my clothes, like OVERNIGHT! I went shopping the other day to try and find some nice maternity clothes but oh there were NONE! Some maternity wear is just so hideous i cant beLIEVE it! why do we have to look frumpy and yuck just coz we're preggers? The stuff i really like is from EGG and way too out of my budget so its off to fabric vision today and im just gunna have to make some! a friend of mine lent me a skirt that im gunna try take a pattern off,,, shhhhhhhh!
i knew this day would come lol

I've found a few nice things at ezibuy...not maternity tops but stuff that i think could be fine for the enlarging tum. I'm off shopping tomorrow to fins something ncie for my step-mums birthday and xmas! Pants wise - pumpkin patch had some (slightly less hideous) stuff.

I would say definitely invest in one great fitting pair of pants (jeans whatever) because when you are wearing something every day it's good if it fits right!! (I learnt that the hard way  )

i got a few tops from ezibuy and farmers not maternity ones tho i just got them in largr sizes and they did me until i had the boys and they were cheap. i think i paid $25 ea for the farmers tops and $30 for the ezibuy. they looked like preggy tops once i had on so pl didnt even know the diff

I know what you mean! It's so depressing not being able to fit anything & not finding anything you like!!!! I bought some denim shorts from the Pumpkin Patch outlet store which looked fine when you first put them on but turned out to be the most bloody uncomfortable things I've ever worn. I think it was the way they fastened. I went into Egg on the weekend & their stuff is really nice, but so expensive. I ended up going to one of the normal Pumpkin Patch stores & bought a few things there. Got a really cool Kaftan top which I've had heaps of comments on & also a couple of pairs of pants which have been surprisingly comfortable. I tried on some pants in JK but found they didn't really fit properly. Another good place is Glassons - some of their t-shirts are quite long, so cover the bump well & they've got some good skirts too with stretchy waistbands.

I got my "maternity" clothes from Glassons, Jay Jays and Ezibuy.
I got these pants with the fold over thing at the top. They are real comfy and if they fit you now (like when you go and buy them, the stretchy top bit grows with you!! - I got mine from Glassons but found out that they are back in fashion and ONLINE! at Ezibuy
Real cheap too.
Most places have their products online so have a look around online then get advice from friends (and us!) about the best places to get preggas clothes from!!

I just went shopping the other weekend for some maternity clothes. JK Had nice jeans and pants. The Jeans just have an adjustable stretchy waistband and are really comfortable. As are the pants. Coulden't find any tops though. Might just have to wear hubbys. hehe.

there r nice skirts for $30 at glassons that have a stretchy waist. Also i have been wearing long boob tubes and singlets from glassons and supre under my normal clothes, it covers where u do up your pants so ppl can't tell if they r not done up.

I'd say to go for a nice pair of black pants if you are going to invest in something. Will do for any occasion.
As it's coming into summer skirts are probably a brilliant idea. I remember how damn hot the 'baby furnace' was and pants just made me feel hot and sticky (in the middle of winter!!)

I hated having to buy large sizes of normal clothes because they just made me feel(and look) fat rather than pregnant and I didn't want to spend too much money on clothes that will only last a few months. Anyway I ended up finding some nice modern looking maternity clothes at k-mart and the warehouse and they were really cheap, $15 for tops and $20 for pants. There are also a lot of maternity clothes sold on trade me, most of them haven't been worn much so they are still in good condition.

Ooo... another thing is to ask around friends with babes if they have any maternity clothes you could borrow.
I borrowed a couple of EGG tops from my Mum's friend. A bit big for me but soooooo comfortable.
I have just lent out most of my maternity stuff to one of my friends as well. Was glad to get rid of it!!!

Dressmart in chch now has pumpkinpatch and JK stores. I got a couple of nice tops from there at a good price. Have to say my favourite top is from Shanton, paid about $15 for it. It's a kinda baggy with a waist band. Fits over the bump well and looks great. I've found lowcut pants the best. I've got a pair of cords, one size up from normal size. I put some elastic in the waist band and they have fitted me all the way though. In fact they fit better than my pair of maternity trousers. For jeans I brought a nice pair of cheap low cut jeans, cut the waist band off and added ribbing and wide elastic.

Its better to get one or two maternity bottoms of some sort (pants, skirt, 3/4ers, etc.) because they are made to fit all the 'non-pregnant' parts properly. Stuff that's just a couple of sizes too big will be too big everywhere.
Maternity clothes are sized the same as the pre-preggy sizes - so if you are normally a 12-14 (or whatever) get the same sized maternity stuff.

excellentay!!!! I love my bump and love showing it off! Ive got a couple of tops i got from jayjays and i live in them, its mainly my lower half i need to worry about. another thing is i dont wanna lose my style as wanky as that sounds lol(oops is that a swear?  ) hmmmm will check out dressmart! thanks so much for your help girls!

i was so happy to be able to show off a rounded belly for a change when i was preggers. now i'm back to trying to hide it! 
i got a belly belt from farmers so i could wear my usual pants right through. its an elastic piece that fits into your pants and there's 3 different lengths. i wore a boob tube over the top of my pants so you couldn't see the belly belt.

I got given about 15 tops from one of my neighbours which was awesome - unfortunately she was preggars through winter so most of them will be too hot for Auckland in summer, but there are a couple of really cute t-shirts which I am already loving to wear! One says Mind the Bump, the other says Baby on Board!! So cute! I'm going to invest in a couple of skirts and have already got a really comfy pair of 3/4 pants from Pumpkin Patch which I wear every weekend.
