double mountain buggy

I have a single mountain buggy, but asume the covers etc would be pretty similar. The covers were pretty easy to get on and off. They fasten with velcro (well mine do, but there may be a newer version now??) My single is very easy to fold down, and light enough to move easily (obvioulsy the double would be a lot heavier, but Im sure it will still be ok). I think the doubles fold down the same way. I never used a carry cot, just put Alex in the seat with a sheepskin liner and he was comfortable, even from newborn. The carrycots look like a good idea though. I have a feeling they are around $100 each, but you can often pick them up on trademe a lot cheaper than that.

I would have to say I would recommend the phil and teds over the MB. I now have a PT and it is a lot nicer than the MB. I find it easier to push, and Alex looks a lot more comfortable in it. They have the side by side double like the MB which is about $850. And PT is a good reliable brand that will last well like MB.

To get prices for the MB I would suggest looking at some baby shop websites that sell them. I think baby factory and also www.kiwibaby.co.nz. But there are loads of others.

Sorry not a lot of use as I haven't used the double MB, but might give you an idea.

yup i am having twins. i figure tash will be old enough to walk everywhere as she will be almost 3.5 when they are born and she likes to walk everywhere as it is and hates sitting in her stroller.

I looked at a MB twin stroller when pg with my twins, I thought that it was absolutley hopeless........ To big to carry once folded down, too hard to fold down, WAY too heavy and even more expensive. Once you factored in the covers that you need to buy and something to line it with, you'll easily be spending $1500.....

The Double P & T is a little better, and aroung $900, the one that Emma has is no good for newborns, only once they get a bit bigger.

We opted for a steelcraft twin buggy, I like it, It is narrower by 2 cm than most twin buggies, but fits through doors better, is only 1.5kg heavier than a single and cost us $400 from Babycity.

I went to smiths ciuty on behalf of a friend and inquired about the phil and teds double. they said it was around $800, but said if my friend came in, the would "do him a deal" - if you can get cash i would ask for a discount at whereever you go.

how well with a p & t go round the farm though???
i think i am gonna go with the double mountian buggy as when we went to the baby factory i had a lil play with one and i didnt find it that hard to pick up and fold down and stuff. i thought it folded down really well and not to big to pick up and stuff once folded down.

i love the idea of a sling/front pack but i tried one with tash and on long shopping trips it was just too heavy and i dont do quick trips to town or anywhere.
