hi ladies
a somewhat general question for you all, when did you first start to 'show', and what do you think is 'normal' (although i know there is really no such thing). was there much / any difference between first and second (or more) babies, for those of you with more than one? (or expecting number two.)
i'm starting to show a little, although most of it is probably 'flubba' as opposed to 'bubba', but it kinda rounds things out a little LOL my pants are definitely getting way too small and i'm getting some real maternity ones shortly. i'm kinda excited about getting a bit more rounded, so people can really tell ! crazy eh
anyway, take care folks ! happy holidays to everyone.

was just looking at my pics from this pregnancy. I was showing a little at 17 weeks, but the difference between 17 and 20 was quite substantial.
I think with jake I wasn't really showing much until 20-25 weeks. And it can be difficult to distinguish between "i'm having a child" belly and "i've eaten lots of pies" belly earlier on. Depends what you wear a lot.

It varies for everyone, i took forever to show with paris, second time round i showed heaps earlier at 18 weeks it was pretty distinguishable, but then things slowed down again and i still didn't end up too big. i think between 12 wks and 20 weeks you just kinda expand and beef up around everywhere, once you get past 20 wks it gets to be more of a tummy.
Me at nearly 5 months 1st pregnancy (about 18 weeks, at my 21st... you can hardly see any belly, if at all)
Me at not even 18 weeks 2nd pregnancy.. definate belly
and then full term 2nd time...

OK, That must mean i am strange then. I am only 9 wk 4 days and already have a definite bump. I was plodgy before hand, but it has really filled out and is a lot tighter. I get pains too, i know it's early, but i reckon its bubs moving. Would that sound about right ? (btw, thisa is my first)

I can't remember when I started showing :( I'll have to dig out some pics.. but it wasn't for a while though.. and I was all belly.
Chonny, usually you start to feel the baby move at about 20 weeks with your first and a few weeks earlier with your second.. so I don't think you would be able to feel your baby moving yet.. but who knows? :)

It was at about 10wks when i got a definite bump and it definitely looked like i was pregnant, so trying to keep it on the down low became real hard and everyone soon found out. I think everyone is different, depending on their shape and size pre-pregnancy.

I think I started showing at around 9 weeks-ish. I'm 15 weeks today *yay* and my Godson's older brother (age 4 going on 40) said to me last night "Auntie Toni, You're getting fat!" LOL lil' bugger.
But I am indeed, I've been feeling heaps of growing/stretching pains this week and my belly is starting to feel harder!
For example, today I'm wearing a shirt that 3 months ago was verging on being a bit big... Now i can't do up the bottom button

I started showing at around 12 weeks - by 18 it was very obvious, and now I'm HUGE!! I was pretty small before pregnancy tho.

Chontelle... pains are probably from the uterus growing, muscles stretching etc ect. Feeling baby move feels like bubbles. Much like gas unfortunately so sometimes its hard to tell in the early days!!! Soon you'll be wishing the baby will stop moving. They seem to get active at the most inconvenient times!

Yeah...I find every so often I get funny almost light crampy sort of stretchy feelings...it was a little unnerving at first and I was a little worried but I've been told it is perfectly normal...

Thanks guys, it's nicew to know i'm not the only one showing early. As i say, i had a bulge before hand, but now it's definately baby. Its really funny coz if i'm walking around, my tummy goes all hard, and if i'm lying down, it softens. So the pains i'm getting are just stretching? OK Kewl, i do have a feeling i will feel movement early though. Mum felt me at 11wks and i'm the eldest. But then as you say, everyone is diferent. I'm just so glad for this forum! lol

still on the subject of showing -Did anyone manage to get to the Pumpkin Patch sale? I'm not sure when it ends??!?! I got heaps (I only went in for a pair of jeans lol) spent $150 on 2 singlets (one dressy, one plain) a t-shirt, shirt for work and a pair of my beloved jeans (I missed my jeans sooooo much! LOL)
Funny how proper maternity clothes make you look bigger

haha I remember trying to wear maternity tops when I really didn't need to. I was just so excited about having a bump! Had to tie them up at the side or back to make sure everyone knew I did actually have a belly

I've noticed I seem to have flubber going to my belly though I haven't really put on much weight overall and nowhere else on me looks chubbier...I was thinking that with that happening at 6 weeks I must be going mad but after reading about a few others showing early maybe not....
I can't wait to get a real bump!
