Topic: Sore boob Posted: 03 January 2008 at 9:47am |
Bella has been completely weaned now, and I did it as a very gradual process over about a month (basically dropped a feed every week). It has been at least 2 weeks since she has been weaned, and in the last few days or so, I have noticed my right breast is quite tender. I've had a good feel, and it doesn't feel like there is any specifc lump, but it feels generally 'lumpy' and very tender around the aerola and nipple area. I'm back to wearing my old bras and am wondering whether its just from wearing a push-up bra again or is it something more serious like a blocked duct. Other than the tenderness, I feel fine. What do you think?

When I weaned Cooper my right side was really sore for a couple of days, I just kept putting really hot flannels on it and eventually it went away. It could be the bra... maybe get it checked out if it continues to the weekend??

Hmmmm when Daniel was weaned off the boob I didn't get that. But then I did wear my maternity bras for a couple of weeks after. Sorry that's no help at all!

Don't get your hopes up, Nikki, its only ONE boob and they are soft and floppy (not nice and firm like they were when I was preggers ). Perhaps I'll go back to my maternity bras for a bit and see if that makes a difference. I'm probably wearing the wrong sized bra as well, seem to have changed A LOT in that area

Yip my boobs went like that after Jack was weaned and that was very gradual. It actually lasted quite a while until they weren't sore. Just keep an eye out for mastitis
