Topic: Boob Reduction Posted: 27 March 2008 at 5:42pm |
Has anyone here has this done or know someone who has? Does anyone know the process of getting on the public waiting list?
I was at the chiros today and we talked about this. He's a fitness freak and we were discussing my exercise regime and I mentioned that I hated running he asked why and I said my boobs are too big, they bounce, it hurts etc.
He knew a couple of people (including his wife) who had had it done. The waiting list is apparently about 2-3yrs according to him and that he could help with my case because of my back issues and my boobs are well huge and don't help it thats for sure.
He knows I want to have another baby when we can try again but he thinks its smart to get the ball rolling now so to speak since the waiting list is so long and it would give me enough time to have another.
Makes sense to me but I don't really know much about it all and I'm a wuss when it comes to being cut!

I think you can get a referal from your GP to go on the list. I should of told you this when I was at your place. There is a marking thing they do to see if you qualify. A family friend has just seen the surgeon down at hutt hospital and she quailfies (she is bigger than you) but she has to lose weight first.
Also Ask Emz as she is going through the process.

A member in my family had a boob reduction and she paid $10k for it. She had enormous back problems and her boobs were way out of proportion for her tiny size 8 frame! She looks fantastic now and is so much more confident, she used to wear jumpers to hide her boobs all the time. I can't believe how minimal her scarring is, its amazing and very cleaver!
Sorry I'm not really answering your question, but just wanted to tell you a successful story!

Success stories are more than welcome! hehe
I'd love to go private and pay for it but we don't have that kind of money sitting around

I have 2 friends who got boob reductions and have never looked back, they did mind have huge boobs. They got some paid for and had to pay a little for it cause of the size and problems they caused.
I know one said she had no problems and was supprised how little pain she had from it. The other lost about 3 kgs from it and I think they took a bit of fat (lipo??) from her back so she had a little pain but still not really bad.
The scaring is a bit more than what you would get from an boob jobbie as they lift etc... so movinne g the nipple normally is invovled - I have seen both my friends and its like an upside down 'T' on the under part of the boob.
I would love to get one done - a nice c or b cup. But could never spend that amount of money just on myself and doubt I would get on the waiting list.

I'm going to get my boobs "fixed up" once I have this baby and get my weight back down again, over the past five years I've gone from a DD cup to busting out of a G cup but I just can't bring myself to buy an H cup . My Southern Cross policy will cover it as long as I can get a doctor to agree that my boobs aren't helping with my back probs.
The annoying thing is that both the back problems AND the giant boobs are all from having babies!

I'll say! Even BEFORE I had kids my boobs pointed south! I remember my m/w trying to show me how to position Maya to b/feed by holding her up against herself and I was like, "it's ok for you lady, your boobs don't point down!"

It is a major operation, there are of course associated risks of bleeding, infection etc and risks of having a general anethestic. Other than that, recover time is at least 6 weeks. It would be 6 weeks without doing any lifting, holding babies, hanging out washing etc etc. You may qualify for homehelp if done private, Im not sure, that may only be if its ACC.
Im not sure how big the actual cut is, I dont think its that big,...much worse for implants.

Mine are the same heading south from a young age. I don't fit the criteria they have for the public list so may have to save for private.

My sister's friend had one when she was relatively young, about 16 or something, and she happily flashes them around. Her scars aren't visible coz they are under her breasts but her nipples look weird coz they had to reposition them.

I'm lucky I suppose, I don't have any stretch marks which is just freaky since they are massive.
