I think... and don't quote me on this....... you are thirsty cos you are growing a baby in your tummy...... and you are tired cos you are growing a baby in your tummy!!! I think they are both side effects of being knocked up. I go through stages of being so thirsty I could drink a lake, and tiredness is wicked right about your stage at the mo.... I don't think you should worry

Yeah I wouldn't stress too much...I'm often so thirsty no amount of liquids seem able to quench it!
And we won't even go into how tired I am half the time! *lol*

By the time I delivered Maya I was drinking 3+ litres of water a day every day. When I was in labour they gave me 3l of IV fluids, and only took 300ml out the catheter, so Maya was obviously just leeching the moisture out of me.
But mention it to your midwife. She will do a urine test to check for sugar in your urine which is one of the first signs of gest diabetes, and if thats a bit suspect might arrange a Glucose challenge.

also often your nose is blocked, one of the fun parts of being pregnant so you start breathing through your mouth hense the dry mouth. Im also drinking heaps and had gestational diabetes last pregnancy but so far touch wood dont have it this time round. You get a routine test around 26 weeks i think for GD.

I know what you mean on both counts, mind you even before I started getting that extra pregnancy-related congestion I was a mouth breather (wierd, I know). I've got something worse though, that has only intensified with being pg - I drool something chronic in my sleep and will almost always wake up with either a wet patch on the pillow, sheet, my face, or all three !
With the thirst, it's especially bad coz I'm on the phone all day, I've taken up what Toni_akl has tagged "chain drinking" - constantly sipping from my water bottle, yay for a water filter at work (hate grotty tap water)! If I'm not quick enough in the mornings though, not only do I get dry mouth but my tongue sticks and I muddle all my words *sigh*

I hate waking in the middle of the night and my mouth is really dry, especially if I have forgotten to put water by my bed. I have a water bottle I keep with me constantly, only problem is it adds to going to the toilet every two seconds!

Ok, may as well add *another* dork notch to my belt... I have a "Peepee Ratio" - I have worked out based on an average week, the number of times I usually pee in a day It used to be, pre preggers, a measly 4 - and now we're up to a whopping 12 !!
