I hope you get it sorted, there is nothing worse than worrying. I had sort of the same with Ethan, he didn't sit until almost a year old, I freaked about it, especially since he was crawling by 5 months and walking around furniture at 6.5 months, they kept telling me it was only a problem if he was walking and couldn't sit, and thats what he did, i was convinced that there was something really wrong, but he just wasn't comfortable sitting, still he prefers to kneel than sit. Maybe Kylah just isn't comfy on her tummy, a few bubs in my coffee group were the same, and they still managed to crawl okay.. Good luck and try not to worry too much. |

Hannah never really rolled. I think she did once or twice when she was 7-8 months old. Does Kylah sit? I think Han didnt roll cos she sat early and was quite happy just to sit and not get into everything.

She sits up fine, but not showing any signs of crawling at all! She doesnt roll over at all. Think shes only ever done it once with a small push from me!

Yeah go to the gp, I saw ours because he was over 8 months and still not sitting (is sitting now). He went through a load of developmental checks and everything else was ok but he has referred us to a developmental paed just to be sure.

Kandice, don't forget though that babies do develop at different times. Cooper doesn't roll over either, he sits up - just. He has absolutely no interest in it, will no perform on queue just does it under his own steam.
So I think if Kylan can go one way, very soon she'll discover that she can go both ways.

BUT if you are worried, then maybe see the GP. Does she have a lot of floor time? Maybe increase that, and put toys all around her, and just leave her and see what she does.

Michaela figured out how to roll from her back to her front at about 10/11 months when we started placing her on her back as a "time out" for being naughty. She just hadn't "needed" to roll before then.

Not sure if it helps but Elle did everything backwards:
Rolled once at 4mths
Sat from just before 5 mths
Then sat and sat and sat
Walked holding hands from 10.5 months
 Walked indepedently from 12mths
Rolled, crawled and learned to pull to stand at 14mths!

She hated her tummy too and the more I tried to do activities to encourage rolling and crawling the more upset she got. In the end she did it herself. She is stil not competent at crawling down stairs and isn't a daring climber but she is doing everything she should.

I know it is worrying but they are all different. Maybe a cranial osteopath could help...I doubt docs etc would do anything as it is well within the realm of normal to not roll much or at all at this age.

You could get her looked at by a Dr, but as far as I know the wnt do anythig until she starts missing milestones. And the milestones ages is pretty broad cos it can vary sooo much between babies. My friends daughter who is a week older than Isla, didnt sit or roll AT ALL until she was nearly 13 months,...then it all sort of happened at once.

Maya didn't roll till after she crawled at 8 mths, she had been sitting for months but had no interest in crawling. Then she walked at 10 mths.
The gremlins on the other hand were both rolling early, by about 8 weeks, but didn't sit till 8 mths, crawl till 10 and walk till 13 1/2.

If it helps, Han sat at 4 months, rolled once or twice around 7-8 months, crawled at 11 months and walked the next week at 11 months!

Sounds similar to a boy a month younger than Lily that I know - he sits happily, lies on his back but put him on his front until very recently and he would go straight on to his back - hated being on his front. Now he is starting to show interst in moving around and is choosing to roll on to his front.

I do know of another girl a month younger than Lily who does nothing - no rolling either way and no sitting, that would concern me, but with Kylah I think there is plenty of time before worrying.

Jack never really rolled back to tummy, and didn't do much rolling around the room either. He started crawling in early Feb at about 9.5 mths. I never really worried about it and decided he was concentrating on other things, such as his 10 teeth!
