I just had my visit with my midwife and she said my bloodpressure was high and looked a little concerned but she didnt say anything else. Anyone else have high blood pressure at this stage of their pregnancy?

yeah, i had high bloood pressure throughout my first pregnancy, it got worse in the last 8 weeks. was in the 90's for the low number but rose to over 100 in the later stages.
your midwife will keep a good eye on yours, hopefully it will improve for you. keep rested.

Yep I have had high blood pressure from day one and did with Kobe too. Midwife said to just watch for any swelling and headaches and will just keep monitoring it.

Im wondering if mine is stress related? Altho i was pretty stressed when i was working and it was never high, my SH is stressing me out hes just not pulling his weight, i have a muscle problem or something in my hip that my midwife has told me to rest and take care of myself, but how can i do that when my SH (Stupid Husband) cant even do anything for himself?

Sorry for the rant im just so annoyed right about now!

hehe!! SH!! I SOOOOO have one of those at the moment!! (although we are not married so technically it is easier for me to GET RID OF MINE! Grrrrrr)

Re the high blood pressure, mine was high throughout my pregnancy but steadily got worse towards the end. Never was it bad enough to do something about but I always got the 'look' from the midwife and she kept a close eye on it. I would say that if it were something to really worry about, your midwife would be worrying. Otherwise take it easy.

And re SH, I am not sure how make them realise that being preggy in not a walk in the park but I love the backpack idea!

my hubby is great and supportive and all, but its not the same, he doesnt KNOW what we go through.... the emotions... the pain etc.... and i do often go on strike myself! and then feel bad about it.

as for stress, yeah that can be a big factor in the higher number (whats its officially called??) mine could go up to 160 with me! haha, im highly stressable! but the low one i dont think is changed by stress as much.

do try to take it easy though (haha easier said than done aye?!)

systolic and diastolic.

I second everything everyone's said - take it easy, tell him that if you don't take it easy things can start to go wrong (cos they can) and that he will have to start healping you cos this is what its gonna be like when new baby comes and you can't be his mummy too! lol

im right there with you, over the past couple of weeks my bp has gone up and down all over the place.

im now being monitored weekly, which means spending 4hrs a week in the maternity ward having bloods etc done to make sure im not getting toxemia.

as long as your midwife keeps an eye on you, you will be fine, just remember to get plenty of rest :)

Nope, they're just thoughtless sometimes. They see us getting bigger and bigger, and lumbering about like an elephant and while I'm sure it registers that it must be harder for us I don't think they can really fathom JUST HOW BLOODY HARD IT IS TO BE PREGNANT. They expect us to carry on with our usual day to day routines, not even thinking that maybe it would be nice if they took charge of the dinner sometimes, or ran us a bath or just gave us a cuddle....

Mmm... well, not to be a party pooper but I can't complain, Roland has only really been grumpy because the poor bloke has had a continuous guts ache for almost three days - we went to a White Cross clinic tonight, and he still hasn't quite come right even after being given things to fix it.

Yesterday I had a "day off" and decided I didn't feel like doing anything but playing with Joey and watching TV (which I NEVER do during the day) so I didn't LOL, Peter is so good though, when he got home I just told him I couldn't be bothered with anything and he even cooked tea!!! YAY!!!
