I feel ya there hun, I was off work for my ENTIRE PREGNANCY!!!

By the end of it all I was going a bit stir fricken' crazy!

Haha, if you read any of my posts from way back when, you'll soon see that things weren't right lol - Seriously, I was a complete and utter nutter...........

Not much has changed though haha.

Chin up chickadee, not long now and you'll be sitting there thinking "why was I complaining about having nothing to do!?"

Oh no, that boredom bug can be a nuisence right! Do you have any hobbies you can amuse yourself with? Maybe do some voluntary work at a Toy Library or the like? It's horrible "waiting" for baby to arrive and then when it's chaos once it does, you wish you'd enjoyed your freedom a bit more before.

Im sure if you look in the old pregnancy threads, you will find one i wrote exactly the same lol. Everyone kept telling me to rela and enjoy it. I was bored out of my skull.. I wish i had listened, i only had a week inbetween leaving work and having Kylah.. start a scrapbook, put his scan pics in it.. And take photos of his first room and put them in it. Put your belly pics in and then his cot card, ankle bracelets etc. A bit of his hair (if he has any) and his first photos. I did this. I also put a photo of my mum, nana, pop, brother, and sisters holding her too.
Something to do..

ETA: I had to fix my spelling mistakes lol, sorry if it sounded queer the first time.

OMG, so enjoy having time to yourself, read books, go for coffee, go out to cafe's for lunch. I ended up doing lots of gardening and I also watched TV heaps. I know its hard and you are wishing baby here already but trust me, it ALL changes when they do and you will wish that you had 5 mins to yourself.

If your back is better now, are you able to get some temping work for a few weeks? It would bring in a bit more money - I did it until 37 weeks with my daughter and she was born two weeks later

I have looked into that, I called heaps of places but all the temping jobs are like an hours drive from where I live and its just to tiring driving all that way, if I could find something close to home them it would be pefect but I live out in the wap waps lol and no one will hire a pregnant women so close to giving birth.

Yeah it's a pain finding temp work to suit you, I guess I was just there at the right time.
I even told them I was preggers and they were fine with it.

If I think of some more things you could do I'll let you know
Oh what abouts making crafts to sell? Do you sew? You could make clothes for your boy

I'm planning on finishing work at about the 36 week mark and if my family history (Mum & Sister) is anything to go by then I could easily go 2 weeks over. I'm expecting by that time to basically have bubs room done so have been thinking of things I could do to keep me occupied and certainly won't have any time to do after bubs is here. Feel free to use any of these ideas.

A couple of my ideas to prevent myself from getting bored during this time are:

1). Construct a recipe book of suitable recipes for when bubs is able to have solids. Source these from magazines, books, internet etc. (I love to cook)

2). I have a 2 year old golden labrador and a cat (pair of rascals) of which I have lots of photos. Thought I would have a go at writing some childrens stories using my animals and illustrating them with the photos that I can then read to bubs.

3). Using photos and pictures make my own set of visual cards for when bubs is older. ie numbers, colours, things, Will need to laminate these.

Well that's the start of my list - how much of it i get done will be another story

Have a cooking/baking day, and just make heaps of freezable meals and muffins and things. Great when you don't want to cook after bubs is born!

Thats a good idea actually, I'l have to ask mum and nana what some good meals are that I can cook and then re heat when I dont have time to cook lol.

I think whats happened now is that Ive gotten so bored im in that "I cnat be bothered doing anything" stage lol, so I have to force myself to do things(like house work). I have some washing I need to do today, so that will keep me busy for a while.

This is a really good idea, and at around 2 your kiddie will love this. Also you could gather photos of relatives, grandma, grandpa, aunty etc and make a photo album. I did this (but haven't updated for ages) and my girl loved looking through it and pointing everyone out.

Ugh yeah - it sounds very boring!  I was off work thanks to sickness before I was pregnant even so I hear ya on the 'bored' thing!  Stuff that kept me busy at times was crafty stuff - I made a door sign to keep nosy visitors at bay once baby was here and I was trying to nap.  I liked it so made a few more and sold them.  Um, like you I did the letters for baby's name, to go in her room (and had to keep them very hidden as her name wasn't public knowlege).  Tons of meals I could freeze and muffins to freeze, cause ready-made dinners are a life-saver once baby arrives.  Making bedding for her bassinette.  Have you set up the camera and tried a fancy-pants belly photo?

Andie

Hehe yep done the fancy belly photo haha, but my DF's mum is a photographer and actually took a heap of belly pics of me and made them all arty, but I did try one myself, its posted in the belly pix I think

Well I got off my bum and did the house work...changed some stuff round, sorted some of babies stuff out(cos Im never happy with how its set out lol) done the washing, well STILL doing washing just waiting for it to finish. Gotta wash the dishes in a minute then I better eat something I suppose!

Im going out tomorrow, so Im looking forward to that. Going to potter around the warehouse and sus things out for my hospital bag etc

Read any good books you have been meaning to read. I love reading but never get much time so by the time I finish I can't remember the start.

Read up on breastfeeding, after bubs is born it really hurts (your milk let down) every time you even think about feeding them so soak up as much as you can now.

Hugs, it is so boring waiting for bubs to arrive.

Yep I read all the time(my preggy books anyways) my DF calls my NZ Pregnancy book my "Bible" lol cos Im always reading it. There isa good article on breast feeding in one of my magazines that I always look at.

It is very boring waiting, but I think cos Ive been off since January Ive just had enough, Ive actually run out of things to do. I SO wish I was still working at my dumb office job(but left that job in September cos of the two nasty girls I worked with) it was busy and I would have been occupied. But oh well. Not too long to go now and then bubs will be here

you could go for a walk and take pics of scenery and stuff then get them printed up large for bubs room...

start a flower garden

preggy yoga

take up knitting or crochet or sewing

invent a better way to burp a baby or something else...

I feel your pain! I finished work at 28 weeks with Maya and I nearly went stir crazy at home for three months! Everyone thought I was mad staying at work till 34-odd weeks with the gremlins but I needed the distraction! I still haven't made a decision with my boss on when I'm finishing up this time...
