As some of you know from the old  "whatcha doing" thread I went to the Dr last week for severe fatigue and migraines. I was sent for bloo test and my GP rang me yesterday to tell me I have "active" EBV aka glandular fever  and another viral infection Cytomegalovirus aka CMV. This is similar to EBV not glandular fever but in the same family. I tested negative for CMV antibodies showing I havent been expose to CMV before but I tested positive for EBV active as well as the EBV antibodies, But I have had glandular fever alot over the last 5 years.  I am soooo wrapped that I have my holiday this week and the Dr faxed my medical cert to my team leader so she will receive it tomorrow. He has given me a cert for indefinite leave but Im not due back at work till May since I have my holiday coming up.

I shouldnt rant and rave cos people go through so much more than me health wise but argh I cant afford to be sick. My kids need me to be well.

Hugs Kels. What an absolute pain. Will hope and pray that you have a speedy recovery and that work is very understanding. Will also send you resting vibes as I'm sure it is hard to rest with 3 kids etc.

We can be sick together Kels. I have tested positive for both EBV and CMV. I'm off to my dr on Tuesday to work out what i'm going to do.

I was a puree feeder, forward facing, cot sleeping, pram pushing kind of Mum... and my kids survived!

glandular fever sucks ass. It was bad enough with no responsibilites and could take as much time as I liked off school. Is there anything they can give you?
