Its good to have a moan and let it all out sometimes. And this is a great place to do it.
I hope something good happens for you soon chicky, you sound like you need something fun to remind you how good life can be!

I agree that it is fine to have a rant and you feel so much better after you get it all out! That is what we are here for!

Kids are hard work and I have felt just as you do but then you get those times when you just want to cuddle them and never let them go. You are not a bad mum for feeling that way and you shouldn't feel bad because everyone feels like giving their child away at times.

I hope you feel better soon and things start looking up for you.

awwww lu!! as the others have said, there are times when we would all gladly give our kids away without batting an eyelid!

you are not a bad mother, you are doing an awesome job raising james alone.   i really admire solo parents because i find things tough with my kids, but i have someone to help me with them!

you rant away hun.....i hope there's something great just around the corner for you! keep your chin up

Big hugs Lu! You sound like you need them! For what it's worth, when I was miserable and having a crappy pregnancy with the gremlins it really made my day when those two tiny wee hats arrived, had me in tears coz it was such a sweet thing for you to do, and the hats are now in the gremlins memory boxes, so I think you are a lovely, kind hearted, generous person and I bet James thinks so too!

Do you think it would help to maybe sit back and look at the things you want to change about your life, and look for small ways to start making changes that will make YOU a bit happier? The swimming is a great start! Maybe start thinking about what it would take in terms of finances/resources/support etc. for you and James to get out on your own and have your own space and start looking at ways you might be able to make that happen. Even if it means waiting another 2 years for you to be able to afford it or for James to start school, sometimes just having something to look forward to and plan for can make all the difference.

More big hugs, thinking of you!

I was a puree feeder, forward facing, cot sleeping, pram pushing kind of Mum... and my kids survived!

Lu , I know i dont know you that well on this site, but from what ive seen i've always found you really caring and you always have sweet compassionate words when people need them.
Sometimes when ive been down and posted on here, the hugs you gave me meant a lot, even if i never said.

I think your a fantastic mum , your love for James is very clear for us all to see, and I too was a single mum till C was about 4 and a half , i too never thought id find someone else but here i am nearly six years later living happily with my partner.
A good thing about having a kid Lu, is that its a pretty big test for any guy who wants a relationship with you , if hes not willing to be a parent to James hes not worthy of you either, and there will be a guy out there who is just great for the both of you .

I hope things start to work out for you chick

Well if you need any help, you know where to find me. Sometimes an outside perspective can be helpful. Think big girl, you and James deserve it!
