yeh i know i know i have asked about this before but i have to rant.... i need opinions to....

Awhile ago i posted a topic about the hip pain/groin pain i was having and i spoke to my midwife about it and she said it was the periformus muscle? she had it when she was pregnant and she sympathises with me, she sent me to a chiropractor who i have seen for the past 2 weeks and i feel like nothing is changing i was in so much pain last night my pelvis is killing me, my hips are sore, my butt feels like i have been sitting on concrete for hours and is aching all the time and not to mention the fact that i cant even walk properly coz of the pain in my groin and baby feels really heavy and i still have like a bit to go.... its driving me nuts and last night all i wanted to do was curl up in a ball and cry but i couldnt even do that coz i was sore!!! I have tried the pillow thing, the resting lots thing and nothing is helping. I even went to see the womens health and they brushed it off saying its part of pregnancy get used to it pretty much, i feel like i have nothing that i can do about it and it feels like its getting worse. I have a history of back issues and what not and the chiropractor says that i wont notice any change until my back gets used to sitting properly which will adjust my pelvis....well hello my back has been twisted and kinked its whole life so what makes her think that it is magically gonna fix itself when i have seen chiropractors previously to no avail? Grrr im so frustrated!!!!

Sorry for the rant but i really needed to do it!!

i really hope it eases up for you, you poor thing!

Hey Jezsika have you tried gentle exercises in water? Some public pools even have pregnancy classes and its a great way to get the weight off sore hips, back etc etc Even if its just a a soak in the pool or something I find it helps.

I didnt read the other replies so may have already been said, but go to a womens health physiotherapist. And its your piriformis muscle. The piriformis syndrome is a condition in which the piriformis muscle irritates the sciatic nerve, causing pain in the buttocks and referring pain along the course of the sciatic nerve. Does that sound like you??

Yep does the sciatic nerve run down around ur pelvis at all coz i have severe pelvic pain aswell, i wont go to womens health physio due to what they said last time and i left in tears and hubby doesnt wanna see me as upset as i was last time, they look at me and my back history and cant be assed dealing with it, she didnt even know why i had pins and needles in my butt etc she just shrugged it off as a pregnancy thing.

Jez... I feel for ya ! My back locked up completely when I got up off the table at the clinic today, and am SO looking forward to my physio next week. I haven't been to her before for anything pregnancy related, and I *am* kinda biased coz she's my cousin, but she has worked with all of our Olympic and Commonwealth games teams, and has always fixed my problems NO worries... (and of course it helps that she has had kids and knows what it's like, was happy to fit me in especially, as her practice is really busy) Good luck in finding someone who will listen to you properly !!
