I hate mine! Dh says there is nothing wrong with it but it really just moves the dirt around the carpet, it works well for the 1st 2min after you empty the thing and clean the filters but that take a bit and you honestly have to do it every 5 min. i really dont want to spend that much time vacuuming,
So i have told hubby that unless he lets me buy a new one im leaving  lol.
What sort do you have? is it any good?

I know ALOT about vaccum cleaners, I used to work as a Regional Account Manager for a very well known brand.
I am happy to answer any questions you have and give you an honest opinion. There are good and bad points with every single brand on the market even the brand I represented!
I no longer work the company as I am a stay at home Mum, but I was in the Appliance Industry for 7 years!

Same as Pepsi. We have a Dyson which is brilliant.
We used to have a bog standard Kenwood vacuum, but I would have to vacuum pretty much daily to keep on top of it. Within half an hour of doing the house, there would be rug fluff and dog hair everywhere again.
Since getting the Dyson, the floors just seem so much cleaner and it is really quick to do a once over. We have an upright which is a bit more fiddly to use in corners as you have to pull an attachment out, but otherwise really handy as it just sits in the corner all plugged in ready to go.

My husband, who fixes such things, reckons while they are good, dysons are a HUGE rip off, He says they are all plastic and probably cost about $80 to make, also, apparently they are very hard on your carpet.
I have a nilfisk bagless, its greaqt, but I get sick of having to clean the hepa fliter out all the time... (I love the look of dysons, I really do, but hubby says NO!)

I have a Hoover bagless with hepa filter and I  it!
Cleans the carpet so much better than our old bag one.

We have a Dyson and I couldn't recommend it enough! They may be cheap to make but the work brilliantly. I've owned about 10 different types of vacuums and the Dyson is by far the best- totally worth every penny in my opinion.

I think its the hard sucky/pet hair/turbo brush heads in general that are bad for carpets??? meh, i dunno.

Maybe you could by one and write 'Hoover' over top of the Dyson labels in vivid  I got mine brand spanking new off the net for £60! Bargain. Mums going to grab one when she comes over and take it back with her

hehe we have the turbo head one annie...........had it for a couple of years and the carpet seems to be ok.
dyson customer service is BRILLIANT!! we had the turbo head crap out on ours about 6mths after we got it, rang them up and a complete new head was at the door 48hrs later! didn't have to send the old one back or anything.
then the whole vaccuum crapped out about 3mths ago, think it was our fault for not clearing out a filter  we rang them, they gave us courier details, sent a courier sticker the same day and it was picked up the following day. got it back 2 days later, all cleaned and working brilliantly! it looked like a new one.

I love my nilfisk, went for a king 400 or 500 cant remember was a while ago as it seemed more hard wearing that the dyson - I loved the idea of a dyson but spoke for a while with a guy at a shop (wasn't buying from there just getting info) was told the dyson was a lot more noise & the nilfisk could put up with a bit more 'bashing' around the house. It also has a turbo head which is great getting up all the fur from long haired black cat in residence!!

To jump on the bandwagon, we've got a Dyson too and I it so much. I used to hate vacuuming but don't mind doing it now I've got such a funky appliance to do it with. That said they are blimmin expensive to buy and I'm sure other bagless models do almost as good a job. My MIL and FIL have both a Dyson and another vacuum cleaner (an Electrolux maybe?) because they found that the Dyson was wearing the carpet in places, so when they moved house they got the second one which they use all the time, and they pull the Dyson out maybe once every couple of months to get the carpet really clean.
I'm an asthmatic with a dust allergy and love what a good job the Dyson does - have to get DH to empty it though.

We've got a central vaccuuming system in our home, so no need for a vaccuum cleaner. But if I did need one I would definitely be going for a Dyson. Love them, and they clean soooooo amazingly well.
