Topic: Post baby body Posted: 03 June 2006 at 9:57pm |
My pelvis still gets real sore some times like at the end of pregnancy and i get these stabbing pains sort of where my legs start and it makes me walk with a limp. My bones have been clicking heaps and my elbows and back really hurt but I think this is from carrying round a heavy baby.
I also get random stomach cramps for no reason and have been feeling really light headed i kept nearly fainting yesterday and it's not from lack of water or iron.
Is this stuff normal for after a baby? If so when will my body be back to normal? and I am still breastfeeding

Welllllll... I don't know *anything* about post baby bodies (YET!) but - and please don't take offense to this as I am just trying to rack my brains for an answer - are you sure you couldn't be pregnant ?

LOL Well I hope you're not broken either, I'm sure your body is probably still recovering, especially if you have a busy life anyway. Take a pregnancy test just in case though, and then if it's negative (fingers crossed?) you could wait a little while then ask your doc.

Id do a test just to make sure, otherwise it could be your body recovering but if you keep feeling faint and arent preggie then go to your doctor just to get it checked

I'm not trying to scare you, honest! but our baby was conceived while using minipill/condoms! A pregnancy test would just rule that possibility out so you can get on with finding out what's going on.

Im sure you okay.
I remember feeling like I had been hit by a small bus for ages after having Paige. And I have been told it is quite normal and can be delayed "shock" PLUS you are still breastfeeding and that in itself takes a HUGE toll on your already tired body.
Try get as much rest as you can and maybe take a booster of some sort. Do some really calm exercise and have some nice hot baths?????

Hey Rach I am still getting aches and pains. Mainly my hip which gets so sore sometimes I can hardly walk and my back (which is prob from all the lifting). I am still breastfeeding too and Hannah is over 7 months so I have no idea if/when things will go back to normal! Although my doc did tell me it takes around a year for your body to fully recover?

HI Rach. I have to agree with Aimeejoy - it can take about a year for your body to recover from pregnancy and giving birth. However, you should book in for a check-up with your doctor to make sure that you haven't slipped a disk or pulled something out of where it should be. Sometimes if you have low blood pressure you can feel faint and there is a nerve (whose name I can't remember) that starts down your leg/hip area that can be pinched and end up giving you shocks/pain etc. Go get a check up - make sure you are all okay - it'll be worth it.

And make sure you are eating heaps (re: possible low blood sugar). When you are breastfeeding all the food you eat is going into making milk so you need to make sure you are also getting enough for yourself!

sciatica nerve is the back / leg / hip nerve - goes down to your big toe. Is from pinching that nerve in your lower back ... my partner has it at the mo and is like an old man... not good for the TTC
