My daughter is niow almost 7 months, she was such a good sleeper early on and she slept through the night since she was about 3 weeks old.

For the last month she has been waking frequently throughout the night, sometimes 4 even 5 times, she doesn;t just wake up stirring or wanting a bottle she just simply cries, but her eyes are still closed so I think she is still aslpeep. She is not a crying baby so this is not normal for her. I usually try a bottle and she will take it, but that wont settle her, usually i get up take her out of the room, and put the tele on,, which seems to wake her up properly and then 5 minutes later she will go back to bed.

We have taken her to the doc and there is no ear infection or anything. She did have a tummy bug recently, so the doc did suggest maybe she was getting stomach cramps, usually when i get her up she will burp a bit and do lots of farts. Its like she has really bad wind, but this never happens during the day only at night.

She is not teething that we can tell. But she definatley cries like she is in pain.

Does anyone have any ideas, and I am now back at work so its getting very tireing.

I just want her to have a good night sleep.

I sympathise with you..similar stuff is happening here.. E will cry in his sleep occasionally but lately it's been wake up and cry (in pain)and only a cuddle will settle and occassionally that won't work.. we think it is teeth as Bonjela calms him down and he normally goes back to sleep a bit after we try that. ..so no brilliant suggestions but we try to avoid feeding as we not long ago got him out of that habit but a few times we have had to to get him to go to sleep and it's very random..fine for a week then like that for a few days..
Mum to two amazing boys!

if you are finding that Taylah has got wind maybe try some infacol at her last feed before bed and have a good 5 - 10 mins of back rubbing (which is like long cuddles so she will enjoy it too) to try and get as much out before bed.

Also maybe look as what she is eating (and you if you are BF) to see if that is making the wind/tummy trouble worse?? Good luck and - it is very hard when they go from sleeping well to not sleeping. You get so used to having your 8 hours and I am a mess after I have had a couple of night up with the kids.

eah we have bought the infacol, but so far no improvements, she is on formulae, and has beenf or a while so we know its not a change from BF to formulae, as for food, she has been on solids for a while now and these wakings started to happen well after that, though i did some reading on nightmares and terrors this morning, and i wonder if its nightmares whcih they reckon happen in the early hours of the morning where terrors happen earleir on int he night usually after only being asleep for a short while, the main time she wakes when she cies in between 2-3am, she wakes at midnight but i can settle her easily then.

We tried the bonjela thing as well, but it didn't work, and she has no sign of any teeth yet. I might have to keep trying the infacol for a bit longer and rub her backa bit more at night to see if it helps.

Thanks for the advice.
