Topic: Do they scare you? Posted: 13 December 2008 at 11:57am |
Gangs i mean!
I got up this morning and was doing my own thing, my uncle was inside (he lives in our sleepout) and this red car drives past super slow.. then reverses and pulls up our drive, and its full of scary looking people, my uncle went out and they said they were looking for number 42, we are 48 and my uncle pointed down the road and came back inside. 5 minutes later they come back all get out of the car, and heres 4 big patched members standing on our front lawn! They go into my sisters room, and both my uncle and i just looked at each other furious!!
I dragged my sister outside and let rip! Quietly of course!
She proceeded to tell me she didnt know them and was trying to get them to leave.
Now im not scared of alot, but all i could think of was the toddler up north that was shot by gang members and died!
Im moving. Iv found a lovely lady whos going to give us her 3 bedroom house when her tenants move next month if we like it. I cant wait to get out of here!!
My sister has never done or been involved in anything like this before!

They don't generally scare me, a few of my IL's are tied up with them, but I think if they came into my house and I didn't know them I'd be quietly freaking out! That must have been so scary Kandice!

Eek! That would really scare me! I really hope your sister's not tied up with them, they don't live very safe or healthy lives. Surely they must know her to come around and go straight into her room. Did your sister go out to them and let them in? Or did they just walk straight into your house and into her room?

She has a sliding door on her room that opens onto the driveway.
It really did scare me as they arent friendly and look at you like they want to intimidate you.
She said she doesnt know them at all but a girl that stayed here last night with her said she kind of knows them, they just know where my sister lives. Which happens to be where im living too!
Iv had enough though, this is the last straw. Im moving.
I tried to tell her exactly what they are like but she thinks she knows better than me. Hmmmm 18 year olds!

Hmmmm I was around alot of them when i was younger and it never bothered me then (some of my family and also inlaws are associated) but knowing what I know now and having been out of that scene for 5 or so years that would freak me out. They are dangerous people.. that is how they got into the gang in the first place. It's a sad life. DF's cousing struggled to get out of the black power a few years back, they cut his eye out, stabbed him numerous times and cut every gang related tattoo off him. Hideous monsters.
You have every right to be frightened and mad, you have your childs safety to put first. Im glad to hear you are moving.

Yup they would scare me if they turned up at my place!
I'm not too bothered if they're out and about just doing their own thing but I wouldn't want them around my family or home.
Good on you for moving Kandice, you'll be much better off in your own place.

They don't bother me, in fact I had a rather good run in with a some black power members once, they were very polite and very helpful.
I can't say I'd want them turning up and forcing their way into my house though!

They scare the crap out of me. I dated (in my stupid youth) a guy who was involved in a gang. I ended up one night at this house in Island Bay with everyone sitting round doing drugs and the cops turned up. My life flashed before my eyes and I reliased that this is not me. We broke up the next day. It makes me who I am today but I still find gangs and members very very scary.

I would have been angry more than scared if ANYONE did this let alone a gang member. Pleased to see you are getting out though cause to have this happen on a regular basis is not good for a family life when you do not want them in your life

If they're out and about on the street doing "normal" everyday things then that's ok, we use to live down the road from the main MM pad and I'd always see the boys out.....going for runs! lolz, they were pretty good though, they looked out for the community so to speak.
My sisters have all been involved in that kind of life, two of them are no longer in that lifestyle, haven't been for many years now, one on the otherhand still associates with them, which cuts me to pieces as she's now a P addict, is a neglectful mother (my parents have been looking after her oldest two for several years...but now all three of the kids live with my other older sister), and at aged 30 thinks she's still 18. She's always been a troublesome person, very reactive...always been associated with that type of life. So sad...and extremely scary as we know a lot of stuff have happened to her (like being placed on the block...if any of you know what that means). Neosha that is soooo gruelly what happens to people who want to leave these gangs. I'm sure not all are like that but man, it's definitely not something to be caught up in. I've had no trouble with the gangs I've lived around...when I was little, cos they all respected my dad (just your ordinary secondary school teacher!).
Anywho would definitely be angry and scared with random gangers coming into your house!. Good on ya for making the move!

I had a BF who thought he was pretty 'gangsta' back in the day and had a similar moment to CuriousG when I realised that it was all getting out of hand and I wanted a normal BF not one that I was worried who he was going to bring home with him!
I would seriously move if I were you esp as you have a little one!
