Topic: One day deals - issues Posted: 12 June 2012 at 9:23am |
Has anyone had any problems with stuff bought on the one day deal type websites?
I bought a service in May, the people didnt arrive to do the job and all my phonecalls and messages went unanswered and now my contact with the daily deal site is also falling on deaf ears.
I'm wondering if there's a process I should be following to get my money refunded.

Keep on pestering, thats how ive got refunds im entitled too.
Make a record of when and how you've tried to get hold of them so if you do have to take them further you know whats happened when.
Even write letter to both companies saying you've had this problems and explain what you've done to try rectifie it and you're giving them to a certain date to be in touch regarding a refund and if they don't you will be taking "appropriate action". Which could be like fair go as others have suggested etc.

You could try ringing your Visa company (assuming that's how you paid) as they can often reverse the charge if the company has failed to deliver the service paid for.
Good Luck.

Have you contacted the deal site themselves? My friend bought a spa treatment, and could not get them to answer to book an appointment, so eventually she rang or emailed the deal site, and the spa place phoned her an hour later!

Yeah, I've sent 2 emails, posted on their facebook page and used the contact form on their website twice.
They have now added me to some kind of service queue but I'm not sure what they'll decide or when they'll let me know.
I dont think I'll be buying anything through them again - their seeming lack of concern has left a bad taste in my mouth.

AzzaNZ - man when they 'do' get in contact with you they better have a solution, otherwise (if you are anything like me) it would be very hard to keep your cool, fx you hear something soon

Ive used daily do a couple of times and found it fine. I had a query about a product that would be sent out and since they normally do services I wasn't sure if I contacted the company, they did respond a week or so after I had received the product but it was literally two weeks before xmas so imagine they were busy.
I would imagine that its the service providers issue to begin with. Have you googled the company? Is it independently owned, do they have their own website and email address, a physical address at all?

I've only used 'Grab one' , the deals for things like resturants/cafes, movie passes, ferry passes, beauty treatments seem to be fine.
Recently I've ordered some toothbrush heads for electric toothbrushes that were rubbish - didnt' fit my electric toothbrush head and had to chuck them out. Also ordered some baby tights that were absolute junk and took ages to arrive - way longer than what the deal said. Grab One were not very helpful when I contacted them either.

They only had a mobile number on the voucher. I called 3 times and left a message. Only contacted Dailydo when they hadnt responded.
I hadnt thought of googling them tbh, will give it a shot and see if any other contacts come up.

If they have a website look to see if there is a website designer who may have more contact details for them too.
